Are They Banning Books Novels & Stories

"You don't have anything to say?" Rosalind shrugged finally, her words coming out casually. "Fine. I went to the library and I ended up looking at a book. What is the big deal?" What was the big deal? Was she kidding me? Sacrilegious texts like these had been banned and it took common sense to know that when one was a royal, the person was under far more scrutiny than an average person. I bit out my words almost harshly. "You are a Princess now. The council wants you ousted, the last types of books you should be reading are books that spread rogue propaganda."

I paused on my tracks. “You stole a lot of pillows from the quarters.” “And we turned it into a bed cushion, Agnes. They won’t notice that they are missing a few duckling feathers.” “You snatched many books from the library.” Agnes added. “Don’t worry, all of those books are forbidden. They do not care about stuff that they don’t believe in.” “They are planning on burning it all anyway...” Fatma noted as she halted for a breather too, “You should steal more.”

The sound echoed around the room and into my ears, filling me with a sense of warmth and peace o could not shake. “The librarian banned me from borrowing books for a week!” “How does someone even get banned from a library?” I said my heart was still slamming against my rib cage. “That’s what I’d like to know too.” She scoffed, then rolled her eyes. “Can you believe she thought exceeding the borrowing limit was a good enough reason?” “Exceeding the borrowing limit is not something normal people do. How many books did you read?” She pointed accusingly at me; her eyes still light with mirth. “You’re one to talk, crow boy.”

Theodore looked at him excitedly, "really, I can come here anytime I wish?" "Of course, you can read all the books here". Then Alistair pointed to some books in a glass shelf, "but you can't read those books. You shouldn't even touch them". Theodore looked at the books Alistair had forbidden him to touch, there was nothing particularly noteworthy about the books. They were encased in plain leather coverings, why had Alistair forbidden him to touch them? "Why shouldn't I read them? What do they contain?", Alistair flicked his forehead.

Why the sudden ban? A few weeks later, it was aired on the TV that there are side rumors that more and more people in New York are claiming to be werewolves yet no professional has ever heard it directly to give a statistic or act on it. They were just rumors to some. Their best bet was banning that genre of movie and book. They never even interviewed any body who claimed to be a werewolf. “They are just being silly. If they really wanted to find out who is a werewolf or not, why don’t they ask everyone to come out on the next full moon?” Anthony asked Mr. Yugo.

is all I could say with this overwhelming sense of gratitude. He grins. “I have more.” He leans towards me and whispers, “But if I give you more, I doubt your king will allow the books to be onboarded. I’m sure he’ll say something about maximizing the load.” “Is that what he’s thinking now?” “He’s currently calculating the weight of the books. But knowing that he can’t use that. He plans to accidentally burn them.” “He can’t do that!”

Cuffe asked, imagining that some of these volumes would be of very sensitive nature. "The recovered books were screened by all Professors and the subjects were separated into categories specific to the students' ages. For example, a first year student doesn't have access anymore to a book with NEWT material. Dangerous materials are now kept in a VERY restricted section, and the books in it can't be removed from there and are only for local research. And finally, outlawed material is only available to Professors with Mastery in their subjects." Selena explained in more detail, putting Mr. Cuffe's doubts at ease.

My voice dropped low, I knew something about the book has done so something to her, so I needed to treat her carefully. “Some truths destroy everything around them.” I said, looking deep into her eyes, before I took her hand in mine. The whole place went silent and then I pushed the book away from her and straightened. “You are not allowed in the archives anymore.” Her mouth fell open in disbelief. “You’re banning me?” “Yes.” Her cheeks flushed red. “You’re treating me like a child.” “You are behaving like one.” The words came out colder than I meant and I thought for a moment she might throw the book at me.

My hand drifts toward one of the volumes. The title alone makes me draw back. The History of Witches and Warlocks. I nearly drop it. Such books are forbidden within these walls, condemned as dangerous, heretical. Even Father, stern though he was, would never have permitted one in his library. How then is it here, in the attic, with others like it? For when I look again, I see more titles lined along the shelf and strewn upon the table. The Book of Spells and Witchcraft. Witches and Courts: The Battle. Battle of Magic. Witches and Their Origin.

“We are looking for Blood Moon rituals or a Red Moon specifically and Ezra told us directly that the ritual was banned several years ago, right?” “Centuries to be specific, but yes.” I nodded. “Then there is no way it’s going to be out here in the open, just waiting for lock-pickers like you to come in and read it!” Emma pointed out. “Ezra has her eyes everywhere, trust me on this. So she must have hidden all the books that aren’t supposed to be for just anyone to read.” “So we search for hidden compartments…or drawers?” Daphne looked around the room as did Emma and I.
