Alpha Ares
“I can’t move the Pack House closer, Young Luna.”
I finished wrapping his middle and stood up. “I’ll carry him. I’ll keep him righted on my back. We run, and we do not stop.”
“Bossy,” he sneered, but he nodded.
My threat didn’t seem to have perturbed him, and I wondered at what the truth of it all was as I shifted and the man hoisted Ares onto my back. I snarled at him, for he did it with no gentleness. I used my nose to nudge Ares’s legs back into place, and felt his front slump down against me. It would be hard to run fast like this, but it was faster than waiting for him to wake up and walk.
