Not this time. “Hold on. Don’t close your eyes, I beg you.” His speed was accelerating in every hall we were passing through. In his arms was my body drenched in deep crimson blood. Beads of sweat dripped on his forehead, the clenching of his jaw multiple times, and the coiling rampage that had begun forming in his head. It seems like he himself wasn’t sure what to do. My audible heavy breathing emanated from my mouth as I clutched tighter onto the Alpha’s nape. I kept my eyes open and my consciousness fully awake amidst the pulling strains of the poisoned arrow that was buried in my skin.

Prepared to get my stuff and walk towards her whereabouts, yet froze upon hearing an odd noise behind the huge tree before me. I equipped myself, held my bow, and positioned the arrow—ready to shoot. The atmosphere became silent and I heard my heavy breathing, "Terra, where have you been?!" A gasp escaped from my mouth as I felt a hand travel up my shoulder which gives chills down my spine. I accidentally let go of the arrow and it voluntarily released toward the thicket.

Just when I thought, I was the one bringing the chaos. "Her blood had turned dark which indicates that the arrow was laced with monkshood or wolfsbane. We are trying to cook up an antidote right now but all we can do is just wait and let her heal a little." My vision was already red and I could see how frightened he was until he started speaking. "The antidote would soon be ready. I'll go check on them."

The thing I had always missed was parted in two; myself and Isaiah. “No, but it will buy me time.” Ashari says, disappearing from view and reappearing behind Jasper. ‘DUCK!’ I scream in his mind, and he immediately drops down as I shoot my aunt with a compact light ball. It explodes in front of her, making her scream in agony. It gives Jasper time to get away from her clutches. She slashes the air and dark arrows sore towards us. We both dodge them, twirling around in the air. One gets really close, and I hurriedly get my shield up. Both arrow and shield splinters upon impact.

Mae’s power pulsed, uncontrolled, filling every corner of the ship with its glow. But the reprieve was short. I felt truly worthless. As the hunter swung his sword, an arrow flew and embedded itself deep into his neck. Everything was so vivid to me. I noticed the dark green color of the arrow. It looked like a fresh tree branch or rather that of a sapling. I also noticed the contrast as the arrow burst into the neck of the hunter with a splash of bright red blood. The hunter reached for his neck with his free hand. His sword fell from the other hand. The hunter moved his hand to his neck to staunch the blood but of course his efforts where futile and the blood spurted through his fingers and painted the grass red.

I shoved Shaun forward, pushing him out of the way, but this put me where he had been standing, and before I could swiftly dodge, the arrow found its mark in the flesh of my shoulder. Wild, hot pain zipped through my brain, consuming my every thought. My legs wobbled underneath me, before crumbling like ruined ash and bringing me to my knees. A loud sound kept pouring into my ears over and over again. It was my screaming. The last thing that crossed my mind before the darkness was the thought of how a normal arrow shouldn't have hurt so much. — “ . . . Losing blood.” “ . . . The boss smirked at the little kid who desperately tried to stop his own blood from spilling and commanded each of the six individuals to pack up as they all headed out "Don't bother killing the kid. More blood flows from above her, wetting the strand of her hair so she looks up and what she sees almost killed her from the inside.
