Triple Temptation
The ground beneath them groaned as the tectonic plates of the world began to realign, sensing the removal of the god-key.
"Ash, please!" Rhea’s physical eyes snapped open, the black receding just enough to show a sliver of terrified gold. Her hands came up, clutching his forearms, her nails digging into his charred flesh. "Don't go into the dark alone! If you take that thing out... there’s no coming back!"
"I’m already gone, Rhea," Ash said.
He looked at her face—the blood, the tears, the silver veins pulsing with poison. For the first time since he had renounced his soul, the grey in his eyes didn't look like stone. It looked like ash covering a dying coal.
