“When Victor… when he died.” Chloe’s eyes widened, and for a moment, she looked as if she might break. She turned away, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs. “I knew he was involved in something dangerous,” she whispered. “I always knew. But I thought he was smarter than this. I thought he could survive.” Ashley’s heart ached as she watched Chloe struggle with her grief. She knew all too well how it felt to lose someone to Adonis’s world, to be helpless in the face of that kind of destruction.

She is much more and he knows it. "So what? Are you gonna tell her to go home? Alone? At night? Wearing that?" I turn his attention to Chloe as she takes off her coat while walking revealing a particularly tight outfit. She was short so she had to use trickery to make her legs appear longer. It was working. "I hate you," Sasha whispered to me as Chloe finally made her way over. "Chloe, so nice of you to join us," I say as she digs through her purse for a USB drive.

Thanks dad. Chloe’s dress was impossible to ignore, crimson red, low-cut back, her hair pinned up but a few strands loose, framing her face. Brian forced himself to look away, though it took effort. The gym looked deserted, but a massive vampire swung the door open for them. Behind the curtains, a hidden hallway buzzed with chatter. Fighters stood by the doors, some inside, waiting their turn. Chloe moved past them, her eyes locking with Hunter’s. He grinned, and she couldn’t help but smile back.

Chloe smiled faintly. “You don’t need me anymore in there,” she said. Ashley frowned harder. “What does that even mean?” Chloe paused for a second, as if fighting back emotion. Then she said quietly, “It means… your surprise is waiting for you.” Ashley froze. “Surprise?” Chloe nodded once. “Walk forward.” Ashley hesitated again, her heart pounding now. “Chloe…” she whispered. But Chloe had already started the engine. Ashley’s eyes widened. “Wait—Chloe!”

Chloe rolled her eyes with a grin on her face. “I’m still waiting for my handful you know, men seem to run away from me”, Chloe groaned. “You’re an aggressively successful woman, they’re scared because they think they can’t measure up”, Ashley shrugged, getting up. They had probably stayed for three hours, it was already almost sunset. “Wimps”, Chloe said righteously and threw a covert glance to where Ashley said her guard was sitting. “Is that him?”, she said under her breath as she quietly observed the stoic man. Ashley nodded and waited for Chloe to get her fill on looking, because she would surely not leave if she wasn’t satisfied.

I pecked her chin. She giggled and dropped the mug on the table. She wrapped her arms on my neck and I cuddled her lovingly. I felt her smooth palm smooching my chest and I stroke her hair. We crawled under the blanket and wrapped ourselves in each other's arms. ...... Chloe's POV Finally! Xavier is home! My brows furrowed staring at him striding into our bedroom. He walked past me as if I were invisible. Not that I was expecting a peck or a hug from him but saying good morning to me wouldn't ruin his day or mine or will it?

she echoed, her tone disbelieving as she looked me up and down. "Yes," Xander confirmed, his voice firm. "Helen, this is my younger sister, Alexa," he gestured to the woman with the striking resemblance to him. "And this is Chloe," he indicated the auburn-haired woman, "a close friend of mine." I noticed Chloe’s expression shift, her smile faltering for just a moment before she masked it. Disappointment flashed in her eyes, and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of unease. She quickly regained her composure, but the brief flicker of emotion didn’t escape my notice.

She clenched her fist hard at the sight of Claire. The boys pulled down their hood and she recognized one of them. It was Alex. For the first time, she looked at Alex directly in the face. He has black and curly hair, and green eyes, full eyes brows and long eyelashes. Ashley didn't notice that before, maybe she was just too upset to notice it. She was lost staring at Alex until a slap landed on her cheek. A slap that brought her back to reality. It was Claire. "I swear I'm gonna kill his girl" She fumed inside, struggling to free herself again. Veins popped up on the side of her neck.

I unconsciously said, eyeing the mini house in this tree. — The next day, I woke up in a daze as I heard some arguments just down the tree. I lazily stood and took a look out the window. "Aksha!" The door slammed open, and there I saw Azaloeri's face… all I could do was watch her scaredy-cat face while she's trying to catch her breath. "Aksha! You need to hide." "Why?" She shook her head and pulled me away from the window. "Don't look. He's here, he might sense you."
