Chloe The car jerked forward and slammed to a sudden halt, dragging my body slightly forward. My chest hit the restraint of the seatbelt hard enough to knock the air out of me. “Stella, goddamn it!” I gasped, pressing a hand to my chest. “Do you want to kill us?!” Stella rolled her eyes and slammed the gear into park. “I should be asking you! Chloe Summer, are you trying to give me a heart attack?! I’m too young. Too fucking young to die of shock!”

She can pick up my scent, I can pick up her cologne. I sighed, walking outside. “OH MY GOD!” Chloe literally screamed. “It's Blue Ashton!” My eyes met Blue's and she smirked, turning her face to Chloe. “Hi there, dear.” Blue smiled, shaking Chloe's hands.

Chapter One Chloe’s POV "Arrgggg...fuck." He pounded faster and harder, my hands were clenched to the sheets as he kept on penetrating. "I think I'm going to come." I smiled faintly before continuing in a calm but sharp tone, "I've had that dream too. In mine, Adam still found out he was terminally ill.

Eve padded softly down the stairs, the wooden steps cool beneath her feet. Alex stood at the counter, sleeves rolled halfway up his forearms, quietly focused as he buttered toast. The morning light pooled around him, turning the edges of his silhouette gold. “It wasn’t. Someone lit that fire on purpose.” My knees buckle. “Who?” Before he can answer, the stone wall behind us explodes inward. A blast of glittering frost spirals through the air as Noelle steps into the hall, heels clicking, hair perfect, eyes glowing with sugar-cookie malice. Suddenly, the ground in front of Harper exploded. A figure rose from the sand, a woman in flowing crimson silk, her skin as pale as marble and covered in glowing purple veins. She didn't wear tech. She didn't need it. She was High Priestess Xanthe, the one who had taken over after Malakai was crushed. Xanthe raised her hands, and the desert sand rose with them. The sand solidified in mid-air, turning into razor-sharp shards of glass, propelled by her psychic fury. "Architect's chosen..." Xanthe stared at Harper’s hidden mech. "You dare to touch the sacred star?"

I stumbled, face-to-face with a girl my age — choppy pink hair, wide hazel eyes full of pure panic. “What the hell….” I started, trying to pull free. “Saving your ass,” she hissed, peeking through the vents. “I’m Chloe. And you just let the devil catch you staring.” “I was just looking.” “You don’t look at Asher Kingston,” she snapped, voice shaking. “You sure as shit don’t let him see you looking. You got a death wish or something?” “He’s just a guy.” “Yeah, and I’m the queen of England. He ruins people for fun, Harper. Got a teacher fired last month over a fucking A-minus. If he decides your face pisses him off, you’re gone. Scholarship and all.”

Chloe’s cheerful voice filled the car as Natalie slipped into the back seat of her waiting black Mercedes. A warm smile spread across Natalie’s face. “Yes, sweetheart. I’ll be home soon. Did you have fun with Aunt Lisa today?” “Yes! We baked cookies, and she let me help mix the batter! But I miss you.” Natalie’s heart clenched. Chloe was her world, the one thing in her life that remained pure, untouched by betrayal or ambition. “I miss you too, baby. I’ll tuck you in tonight, okay?” “Okay! Love you, Mommy!”

Their relationship would be toxic at best and life-ruining at worst. “You ruin all my fun”, Chloe said with a small smile. “So, is it the Phantom that brought you here”, Chloe asked casually, like Ashley couldn’t read every single thought passing through her head. She and Chloe had been obsessed with cars together, so she was absolutely certain CHloe would want to see it.
