The wall of the tsunami, which was getting higher and closer, suddenly reversed and receded. The tornado was moving away. The raging sea slowly died down and calmed down again. The rain stopped, and a gentle wind blew. The extreme weather suddenly calmed down, and the sky became clear again as if the storm that had just hit Astrid and Draco had never happened.

She had dainty gossamer wings and long pointed tips to her ears. Astrid was tall, lithe and blond. Her hair braided into several sections that all came together into one long thick braid that came over her shoulder and hung to her waist. She had the most purest pale blue eyes and her pale complexion was covered in freckles. She looked strong and fierce like a warrior but grinned with a friendly warmth as Aria shook her hand. "I am pleased to meet you." Astrid said, her European sounding accent thick. "As am I." Yolanda agreed with a matching welcoming smile as she also shook Aria's hand.

“I want what every being of power desires—control.” Control? My mind raced, trying to piece together what she meant. Was she the one who had sent the wolf to attack us? Or was she something else entirely? “Who are you?” I growled, my patience wearing thin. She stepped closer, her movements graceful, almost serpentine. “I am Astrid,” she said, her voice lilting like a dark melody. “And I am far older than you can comprehend.” Astrid. The name sent a chill down my spine. It wasn’t just the name; it was the way she said it, as if it carried centuries of history, power, and destruction.

After a dozen scraped knees, a handful of bruises, and one broken arm, we both called it quits. The instant the orb made impact; Nadia exploded into a cloud of mist. It was strange to say the least, knowing the particles suspended in mid-air was actually the she-wolf out to destroy the world. An abrupt gust of wind sent it hurling my way, so quickly that I didn’t even have time to snap my mouth shut. When it hit, it hit hard. I wasn’t prepared for the way it stung my skin and weaseled its way into my mouth, salty and pungent like the sea.

“Swallow.” She knew it was futile to resist, but she didn’t have it in her to easily comply, especially understanding the stakes. It had been bad enough to have visions that helped him in battle when she hadn’t directly known the people, but now that she knew the clan involved, and she had a better appreciation for the other clans and how they lived, though she had not yet met any of the ones neighboring the Balfours, it was unconscionable to cooperate at all.

Her black hair is now blonde, her bright blue eyes now hazel. Her skin went from a light tan to a pale white. I think she even grew a few inches. Her legs are now maybe 3 inches longer. Her outfit now changed to a leather jumpsuit that covers her legs and arms.

She could feel the hatred from Iris’ eyes boring into her back and she held on tighter to Ryder. No one in the village knew who she was, to them she was just another regular human, walking out of a forest with a bunch of other humans. And no matter how intimidating Ryder’s physical appearance was, he was also, or would be regarded as just a human too, unless someone were to identify him as the ruler of Astaroth. The feared ruler of Astaroth. “I should find us a lodge.” Xanth said to them and briefly glanced over at Ryder who nodded his approval. “In the mean time, don’t wander too far away, Iris you should come with me too.”

His jaw was clenched, spring green eyes mirroring a storm and worse, he looked just like me. Like my masculine version. This was me. Carla froze for a moment, then quickly rushed downstairs to open the door. As expected, an elderly man with a refined aura stood outside, slowly shaking his head with a sigh. Carla stared at him in shock. The fortune teller walked inside and said, "Give me the straw." Amanda quickly handed it over. He took one look and said calmly, "The soul belonging to the long straw is no longer in that body. He may be dead, or he may be asleep. Either way, he is gone."

"You wish to see." Astrid inhaled deeply, then she shut her eyes and kept it that way for five seconds. Laurel watched with a frown as she stood there motionless, her flowing blood hair falling in flowing down her sides like an angel in a storm. Soon, Astrid's hands began to move, and by the time her hands were stretched out before her, she turned towards the table where Laurel's sword lay and began chanting some words.
