Sarah walked away, Athena hugged Maria and she followed her mom to her office. “Athena’s mom, Baker King,” Athena teased her mom as she walked into her office. Ava was sleeping on the bed. “Remove those glasses, Athena.” Sarah ordered her daughter. “Ma..” Athena started but Sarh interrupted her. “Just take them off.” She instructed Athena with a stern look on her face. Athena pulled the glasses off her face and her swollen eyes were in full display to her mom. “I knew you would be somewhere crying when I called your office and they said you went home already.” Sarh moved close to her to inspect her eyes.

“For him? Do you realize where you are? This is restricted. No one comes here without clearance. Who sent you?” I clench my fists. My mind races. Should I lie? Tell him Jaxon his brother sent me? Tell him the truth about my vision? He steps closer, his eyes narrowing. “Answer me.” I stand straighter, forcing the fear down. “My name is Athena,” I say firmly. “And I know you don’t believe me, but I need to be here. If you don’t let me stay, Damien will die.” The doctor’s eyes flash with irritation. “He’s already dying. What could you possibly do that I cannot?”

She asked slowly, not trying to upset her. "I don't need my mate to escape this, Suzy. If I want to leave, I can do it myself." Athena said in a blank tone, completely dismissing the thought of a mate. "You are so strong, Athy. I admire you so much for that. I don't understand why you don't want to run away from here!" Suzanne exclaimed in frustration at the weird stubbornness of her best friend which angers her so much sometimes. Athena, her best friend. Athy is the nickname she had given her. Cayden answered quickly and rushed toward the stone dungeon. Moments later, several slender figures rushed into the fight. Their long skirts flapped behind them, and they were all beautiful and charming. They were Xenia, Yennie, and the Saint Oracles. They had been pretty furious since Rogart locked them up. They had not wanted to help when the Heavenly Alliance was under attack. However, Rogart was in a higher position, so they had no choice but to comply. When they saw the Saint Oracles, Agatha and the elders frowned. The aura that those eight women were incredibly strong.

He’s still mumbling while listening to his mate. Athena hangs the phone up looking at her confused mate. “It’s a long story. Keep an open mind.” She sits beside him and takes his hand “I love you.” Then she tells him about Lucius rising from hell, the Phobos, and the war. Athena looks at him concerned. “Okay, I’m with you so far.” Shaf nods, "I think." “I’m Athena the Goddess of War and Wisdom. Yes, I'm your true mate,” she tightens her hold on his hand.

Athena's POV I'm Athena Hunter, an Omega from the Crimson Pack, and today marks the darkest day of my existence. From the moment I entered this world, misery has been my constant companion. The identity of my biological father remains a mystery to me as he died before my birth. Shortly after i was born, my mother remarried a man indifferent to my existence. Today, he intends to pay a debt by sacrificing me to a cruel Alpha King. "Please, Father, save me from this cruel fate," I pleaded through tearful sobs. His gaze met mine, filled with utter disdain.

ATHENA'S POV. "Athena." I called slowly, like I was hearing the name for the first time, and Octavia placed her hands on her face. "A disgusting bitch who tried to seduce Alpha Jeremy, and steal him from me. She was a blind bat, but managed to do things just fine. She even compared herself to me. Acting like she was some rich lady when she had only been a maid. That was just so suffocating." Octavia spat out, and ran her hands through her hair. "Hate to think about her. Some people were just born to steal things from others."

Hearing the relief in her voice touched me deeply, but at the same time had me itching to inflict pain on someone. Athena may have grown up in the mafia, surrounded by killers, but she is one of the purest souls among us. Her parents did all they could to protect her innocence, and in a way, she hasn't lost it, to which I'm glad. She still refuses to leave her room, but she’s been more open to small talks with her parents, so I’m happy to hear she’s making some progress. Any step forward, no matter how small, is a success in my book. I’ve promised to see her when this Sathariel business is dealt with and while she was sad, she understood.
