The door opened, and Athena swept in without waiting for permission.
Athena looked like a storm given human form, her hair dancing at her back and her eyes filled with anger.
“Have you heard?” Athena demanded, pacing immediately. “Everyone’s whispering. They’re saying Adelaide fainted like some tragic heroine and now the Alpha won’t let anyone near her.”
Eleanor turned slowly. “Lower your voice,” she warned.
Athena ignored her. “That girl…” Athena scoffed, throwing her hands up. “She’s got audacity, I’ll give her that. Collapsing in front of everyone, stealing attention like she always does.”
