Immediately our eyes met, he quickly dropped his eyes to the floor. I moved closer to him and put an arm around his shoulders, tilted his head up and forced him to look up at me. “My name is Alora, and I am not the Luna of any pack. I am human” His eyes widened. “No, you’re not human Luna, I could feel it the moment you were brought in, and I’m sure Alpha will regret his decision very soon”, he replied. I shook my head and moved away from him. I didn’t know what was in the water in this part of the world, but they were really freaking me out.

Caius snickered. "She will be easy to convince to go through with the elixir, after you are done with her wolves. My mole, Kai is Anatashi's mate. I never believed she'd take one, but I was wrong. He has been invaluable since the Royals got to the Old Lands along with Dove." Chad explained. "Caius and Loki, come with me? We will prepare for the journey, don't worry, Chad it will be done as you ask." Stryxx agreed, looking from Loki to Caius.

Ten year old Shosannah smells like adrenaline and the pancakes with blueberry syrup she had for breakfast as her soft red hair whips across my cheeks, her body rigid and bright green eyes focused on the sparse trees ahead of us. Lora, six, fidgets on my otherside. “Aviva,” she hisses, tugging on the sleeve of my tunic. “I have to pee!” “Shut up, Lora,” Shosh whispers, her arm flexed as she draws back her arrow, which looks massive against the child-sized bow I whittled for her as a Solstice gift. “Breath in,” I whisper against the rim of my little sister’s ear. She does, holding her breath. “Line up. Release–”
