She raised her hands, weaving golden light and obsidian shadow threads together into a dense, humming sphere of dual-toned energy. She wanted to test the limits of her awakened core. With a swift flick of her wrists, the energy expanded outward, carving deep, precise geometric patterns into the solid granite cliffside without leaving a single fracture

Smoke curled from my lips. My blood burned. I am fire and brimstone. I am destruction. I am Aurex and I am awake. The words didn’t come from my mouth. They came from inside me. A voice like metal tearing through silk. The dragon in my veins, dormant for so long, now fully awake. My senses exploded. I could smell the dried blood in the cracks of the floor. Feel the air shift with every heartbeat in the palace. Count each dust mote in the lantern light.

none of us want to stay here and growing up is the only way out. Your Awakening is a bit like graduation in a sense. A passing from child to adult and normally where you would find your place, your rank, in the pack, and get a mate. I close my eyes and let them flow freely. When did I ever get to this? Being a victim of kidnap, falling in love with a werewolf, being held captive by his werewolf enemy? This all sounds unreal, but this is no fantasy story. It is really happening. I feel like a princess stuck in a very high tower. The is a dragon spitting fire all over the place down there. Is there my knight in shining armor coming to save me? Dwayne is obviously the dragon and his venomous words and actions are the fire. Jace is my knight. Is he going to come for me? Dwayne really sounded sure when he said Jace was going to come for me, because I am his mate.

That time would be extremely difficult to pass without the mate and that time would be extremely crucial as any wrong person could take a chance on it. Heat? That's why I was feeling all that sparks and feelings with Ryan because I had a few encounters with him. I remembered. I read further. After the mating and awakening, with the broken spell, the creature would again be able to turn into its true self, the real self filled with power and a source of destruction, A Dragon. THE FEMALE DRAGON, DRACONA. I shivered to death now.

I could hear it, and I could feel it, the heat that radiated off of me was intense, and I was the one producing it. “Ayla! something’s happening” Aiden stepped back “It’s okay; she’s coming through; we are joining as one” I had no idea how I knew this; I just did. “Who is?” Axel and Archer say together “Alune, the wolf Exalted” was as plain as day to me. I knew what was going on, what I needed to do, and everything that had happened before. “You look like you but more! I can’t explain it” Aiden looked shocked but amazed. “Your eyes, you’re beautiful; they are golden and violet simultaneously.”

I lick my lip to try and feel out what's so wrong, only to find teeth sharp and long, and a sensation of fur around the edges. I wolfed. I’m a wolf, and I shake it off, shake my head to bring my sight back to clear and fuzz-free, so I can turn and see the others around me. A weird movement that’s ungraceful and dog-like, that knocks me off balance. Nearby, a smaller wolf sits and looks at its paws, as I was, yet it glows too. Blue and surreal, as though the moon has rolled down to illuminate us with her touch, and it’s eerily pretty. Something I have never seen before at an Awakening. They don’t seem to be in pain anymore, either, and I wonder if the worst has passed. None of them is crying

Its eyes glowed with the intensity of a thousand suns, and its roar shook the mountains themselves. Torren gritted his teeth. “Okay… now I really want to smash it.” Kael tightened his grip on his sword. “Everyone… stay sharp. This is unlike anything we’ve faced.” The rift pulsed violently, and the molten dragon reared, ready to strike. Luna felt the Fallen Moon, the Moon of Tides, the Moon of Winds, and even the faint shadowed glow of the Moon of Shadows surge within her. “This is only the beginning,” she whispered, determination flashing in her eyes. “The Moonfire has awakened… and we are its bearers.”

“You knew… didn’t you? Not everything. But… something.” Lyra nodded. “I suspected. The way you held yourself, the way wolves reacted to you, your strength… It wasn’t normal. Not for someone unshifted, underfed, traumatized. You had an aura. A spark. Alpha-born wolves feel different.” Sera looked down at her hands—her hands, that moments ago had been silver paws. “A purpose,” she whispered. “I finally know what I am.” “Not what,” Lyra corrected gently. “Who.”

Cain actually staggered back a step, fingers digging into her shoulders to keep himself upright. For him, it came like a thunderclap through the mate bond, a presence slamming into his instincts like collision with another Alpha dragon in midair. Old. Vast. Not Draynor, not Dawlya, exactly something older than either, threaded with a magic that didn’t care about kingdoms or councils. “What the hell was that,” he rasped, voice gone rough. “Say it again.” She didn’t need to. The Circle answered for her. “He wakes. He turns. He comes.” The room warped at the edges of her vision.
