BAD REPUTATION

BAD REPUTATION

Across the marble island, Olivia reached for a red onion, the sharp scent filling the space as she resumed the rhythmic snick-snick of her blade. He reached up to a high cupboard where Isabella usually shoved the dry goods and tugged the handle, but the contents had clearly been packed with Izzy’s trademark lack of organizational skills. The moment the door swung open, a literal landslide of cardboard occurred. Two oversized boxes of granola came tumbling out in a blur of yellow and blue, bouncing off his forehead with a dull thwack before hitting the counter. “Fucking hell,” he spat, the frustration in him finally boiling over into a muffled snarl. He swiped a hand over his face, looking ut

Broken Bad Boy

Broken Bad Boy

PERCIE Fourteen months ago… “Oh, boy. Did you just apologize? I can’t believe you can still remember words. I thought your brain is drained, too.” Grandma snorted while raising her brow. “Stop making him feel guilty, Grace. Look at him. He doesn’t have any more left in him other than his skin and bones. Why won’t you try to cheer him up by telling him about his new apartment.” “Wait, what?” I asked quickly. I felt something new inside me. Excitement? Hope? “You found an apartment for me?”

the blond guy groaned as if in pain, and stretched his back. Iktanne looked at him and handed him the plate of cake she's holding. "You're exaggerating. There's still lots of food you can enjoy here, right?" "No thank you...," he grunted. "Compared to last year and the year before, the portions are in constant decline and the food tastes like shit." She watched him rub his nose as he said these things and remembered some rumors and gossips she heard about a blond guy from the senior years of the Academy.

Bad to the core

Bad to the core

There were two slices of bread and some eggs on the plate. “I’m not hungry.” I was mad at him. I thought he was a good guy but turned out to be a son of a bitch. “You will need energy to entertain your clients tonight. You better eat.” His eyes were still fixed on the TV screen. “I don’t want your filthy food. I thought you were a nice guy, but no, you’re so evil!”. He finally turned to me. “Alicia, I’m really sorry that you’re going through this because of me. I thought you did something bad to John, I didn’t know that you were the victim.” He showed some sympathy.

Stolen Grace

Stolen Grace

"One day, you will sit in a room where someone is waiting for your nod, your hand, or just one fair word from you. When that day comes, remember the road you took to get here." Lila nodded hard and pinned the badge to her chest. When she walked out, her back was straighter than when she had come in. Sunlight came through the window and landed on the new file on my desk. It was a proposal for a fund that Northbridge would use to invest in companies founded by low-income women, immigrant women, and founders mainstream capital kept ignoring. I already had a name for it. The Grace Fund. There were still so many Grace Walkers in this world. They were trapped in their own coal towns, ledgers, cont

Bad Decision, Great pleasures

Bad Decision, Great pleasures

I can… I gave myself exactly five minutes to wallow. Then I got dressed, grabbed my keys and bullied myself into functioning like a responsible adult. The car coughed the entire drive. I managed to get my groceries, feeling utterly embarrassed when I had to kickstart the engine a million times before it ignited. “You better not die on me,” I muttered, patting the dashboard. “I can't even afford to mourn you.” Moving into a new area had its disadvantages because now I had no idea how to find the nearest workshop. G****e Maps led me through three wrong turns before announcing, in that annoyingly cheerful voice:

he asked again. Hayley paused. "Fine. I get it." Griffin glared at her fiercely. "Don't get tricked by men again. Men are either bad or extremely bad. There's no such thing as a good one." Hayley rolled her eyes. "Then you can get lost first." She slapped him away again. He had a point. Might as well start with him.

This is by far and beyond the best book I've read in a long time! It kept me so engaged that I had a lot of sleepless nights and I had to force myself to put it down. If it was in book form, I would buy it in a heartbeat! Thank you Hugh White for writing and publishing this book. it's the story of a

Worth the read, well written and has a decent plot. The characters generally have a lot of depth, although one or two have been a little strange, maybe written that way on purpose. The FMC sometimes feels a little too cold, and vengeful, but again part of her character... I will continue reading!
