I got into my car, drove carefully toward the local book store, they had the new book reserved for me. It was supposed to one quick drive, until I walked into the library. A girl was sitting on a bean bag, her blond hair was covering her eyes with overgrown bangs, she tried to huff them away from her face but to no use. She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

Well, what are you looking for? "Ah erm books about the creatures in this world?" I voiced out when suddenly my eyes glanced upon a particular book with a moving branches cover. It fascinated me so much that I almost touched it when the librarian grabs my hand. She hisses, "Those books are off limits." The librarian then narrows her gaze at me doubting my curiousity. She slithers away and extends her body to reach out for books and gave them to me saying, "Here's all the books containing all that you have to know. The primary creatures of our world."

The main shelves were all in order and pristine, but I ignored them, heading instead for the back alcoves where the forbidden shelves stood behind a simple glamour most students never looked past. Perhaps I had not touched any of those books before and was only interested in my subjects, so I was unaware of this rule. I looked at the book that the librarian was holding in her hands very tightly. "Is there any way for me to read this book?" She shook her head in response. I felt annoyed. “Then why are all these books here in the library if we are not allowed to read them?” In a quiet voice, she answered, "Sorry, girl. You can't read this book. Only the head Alpha can use them if he wants. Instead of using them, our purpose is to secure them."

His jaw tightened, and I could see the tension in his shoulders as he took a step back, putting distance between himself and the book. “It’s not supposed to be here,” he said finally, his voice grim. “This is a book of old magic—ancient, dangerous magic that hasn’t been used in centuries. It should have been destroyed long ago.” A chill ran down my spine. “Destroyed? Why?” “Because the magic in this book is forbidden. It’s dark, corruptive. Anyone who tries to use it risks losing themselves, their mind, their soul.” He met my gaze, his eyes filled with a warning. “You should have never touched it.”
