“You’ve been a joke since birth. And now you think you’re… what? Some kind of hero?” My jaw clenched, but I didn’t let them see the shake in my hands. Instead, I straightened my back, squared my shoulders, and held my gaze. “If being honest and standing up for myself makes me pathetic,” I said, voice low but steady, “then I guess I’m proud to be pathetic.” Lucas was close now, silently walking by my side. I could feel his presence, a steady anchor, but he didn’t speak for me. That was my fight.

Freedom—I needed to escape before others noticed the commotion. “How dare you?” he roared, rage contorting his features as he raised his hand to strike. “How dare you look down on me?” Instead of cowering and accepting what seemed inescapable, I channeled every ounce of fear and fury into action. I kicked him—hard—right between his legs. His agonized scream followed me as I bolted for the door, his words chasing me like demons. “Someone! Catch that bitch for me!” I didn’t wait to see if he fell—I just ran. Because in places like this, heroes didn’t exist. You had to save yourself.

“But let’s go back to what you said—about being lost.” “Oh, About that” I said, clearing my throat and thinking of Beatrice again. “ You see, I don’t think I’ll ever know who I am. I don’t have many friends. I had one best friend, but she died today.” “There’s nothing to find. Life isn’t about finding who you are. It’s about building who you are. It feels powerful to know your own strength, to know what you can do. When you’re truly yourself, you become strong.”

"I'm their hero?" Jerome mumbled. "Being a hero won’t be easy. You will need to take everything else into consideration before you even think about your own problems. Remember, you're their leader, so you need to identify all possible issues and deploy preventive measures beforehand. Your mission is to conquer the whole world." Jerome looked up. "Are you saying I'm the person they believe in, and I should do the same?"

"Honestly, it might take long, but you'd definitely meet them at the right time."

She reached out to help me but I swatted her hand away. I didn't know why I did that but I did and I could not take it back. I didn't want anybody to help me because no matter how much they looked like they actually cared about me, they didn't. Nobody cared about me and every day I was the one that was going to lift myself up from the bulshit that I put myself in. I will always be my hero. I can only depend on myself, I can only ever look up to me. And so, I didn't need her help. I was more than enough for myself, more than enough. Everyday, every hour, every minute, every second, I was more than enough for myself.

I nodded " okay" " Make sure you put your all in the fight. Don't appear too confident if not your opponent will be angrier and don't appear like a weakling. Be yourself and you'll be surprised at your success. Fighting isn't about being too strong or having muscles. A petite person like you can beat down a lion when you have the zeal. This is you and this is what you want, all it takes is belief. When you believe I'm yourself then be ready to conquer it all"

“Yes, I’m afraid of dying but my death won’t happen now. I won’t allow it.” They don’t reply but look at me, some with pride in their eyes, others with hope, doubt, and believe it or not, even disdain, but I will never back down from a fight, I was taught and raised like this. And if I have to challenge destiny, the universe, I will do it. “And who exactly do you think you are to go against a greater force?” Hera spills her venom. “A person who believes that the only person capable of changing your future is yourself.” I answer sharply.

Whenever you feel down, just remember that you are the lead character of your story thus never let antagonists ruin your crown. 💜💜
