It was nine o'clock, the atmosphere in the cabin was quieter. The voices of children screaming— Mark and Heidi were no longer there. They had just fallen asleep from exhaustion, fullness, and also the cold outside. They were lulled by the warmth of the fire from the wood Mickey had cut this afternoon so they fell asleep soundly in their respective beds upstairs.

Just as he approached a room’s doorway, he heard Tina and Kara’s conversation drifting from inside the room. “Tonight’s bedtime story is called ‘Tadpoles Searching for Their Mommy.’ The warm spring is here… A bunch of little tadpoles want to look for their mommy… After overcoming all the obstacles, the little tadpoles finally found their froggy mommy. Together, they lived happily ever after…” Tina’s tone was gentle as she read the bedtime story out loud from the storybook to her daughter. Kara lay in her arms, her heavy eyelids already glued together. She struggled to say, “The little tadpoles are very pitiful… I won’t be separated from you, Mommy… Even if we do get separated, I’ll find you

She was about to leave when I asked, "Please stay here...?" "What?" She asked turning towards me. "The bed is big enough for all of us. I like you I want you to stay so please?" She smiled, "sure thing sweetie and would you like to hear a bed time story?" I gave her a small smile and nodded. By this time Stella was already asleep, I knew she was very tired. I was in the middle Stella on my left and Miss Maria on my right. I snuggled into her as she told me the story of Cinderella it lulled me into sleep. I think that was the first I slept peacefully in a long time.

"I was starting to get bored, then the shorter woman, her name is Liz, and she is the older one. She started talking about a bedtime story they used to hear when they were children." That piqued my attention. I remembered they had said something like that when I sneaked up on their first conversation. "What was the story about?" He chewed on a pancake. "Something like a scary story to make children stay in bed. It was about a wolf sent by the moon goddess to take all bad pups away. The wolf was called the pupsnatcher."

He shifted, turned toward her and crawled forward, resting his head there just like he used to when he was smaller. She stroked his hair. They stayed like that for a long while. She almost thought he’d fallen asleep, until he asked, “Mommy… are you mad at me?” She paused. And then, she smiled. “No,” she whispered. “Of course not.” “Here, let me read your bedtime story.” Then she picked up the storybook from the nightstand. The same one he always chose. Something about a flying bear and a moon-shaped rocket. She opened it and began reading, her voice slow and soothing.

Lucas joined them on the bed, "Looks like our teddy bear is in for some excitement." They continued weaving imaginative tales, laughter filling the room, until Kai finally drifted off to sleep with dreams of daring teddy bear escapades. Eve softly kissed his forehead and whispered, "Goodnight, my little adventurer." Lucas smiled, "Sweet dreams, buddy." As they tiptoed out of the room, Lucas looked at Eve, "Our bedtime stories are getting more elaborate." Eve chuckled, "Blame it on your son. He's got a vivid imagination." And with that, they left the room, leaving behind the peaceful slumber of their little mommy's boy, surrounded by dreams sparked by their whimsical bedtime tales.

“And I missed your mommy. So much that I had to come and see you all.” My youngest two squealed in delight again. Maybe I let them watch too many fairy tales. “Ok, girls.” I clapped my hands, ushering them. “Go back and play please. Bedtime in an hour.” It was that easy to dismiss my girls. Just the mention of bedtime and they disappear faster than the hummingbirds. Or the roadrunner in those old cartoons with Wile E. Coyote. Turning my attention to his companion, I extended my hand out to hers to shake it.

It was a very fun day to say the least, even when Tyberias almost picked a fight with the dressed up Mickey Mouse, claiming that his hands were lingering in my for 'too long. Tyberias copied my action and flopped down on the bed next to me. "Let's just stay in tomorrow" he said into his pillow. "Agreed" I said, worn out

Sometimes it makes me giddy looking at the cute little clothes and makes me wonder how this little fella will grown into a big man one day and how these babies are dependent upon us for everything. Then I played with Mick in my childhood room. I also read him some stores and we also watched some cartoon movies together. For lunch we decided to have Mac and cheese pasta . After lunch I went for a nap with Mick in his room. Even though his room and bed is small but it is comfortable. He hugged me to sleep and at 3:30 pm we woke up and I fed him fruits and a glass of banana milk shake.

I got her the three piggies story book and began to read it, making the voices, huffing and puffing making her hide behind Zorro sometimes and giggling other times. When the story ended, I told her it's bed time, kissed her cheek, turned the light down before me and Tristan left her room, you'd forget he's there with how little attention she gave him. We moved to my room to spend the rest of the night, we have hardly spent few minutes there before a little someone sneak in my room with her fox stuffy and slip into my lap. "Little bear didn't I say it's bed time?" I ask her, it's ten thirty now, her bedtime was thirty minutes ago.
