I hear every thud of her heartbeat as she packs her things—like a third eye, I see her leaning against a red box, stuffing it with clothes, her fingers still shaking. Across the room, her figure reflects in a mirror. I yelled loosing the amount of patience I was using till now. She obeyed but then she walked to me with bare foot. But before I could twist her hand she traced my face with and murder her for touching me like that, the door of my room snapped open, revealing the green haunted eyes I always look for. Her eyes moved back and forth between me and Leah before the look of disbelief and confusion flashed in her eyes for a flicker of second.

But she doesn’t show herself, so I can only assume that my eyes are deceiving me. When I am almost to the hotel, I hear a noise behind me and see her in the distance. Her black eyes peer into mine and that smile sickens me, every time I remember what she has eaten before. I swear a few minutes later, that she is so much closer than she was just a minute earlier.

Then slowly, she peeked through one eye, confused. And in the blink of an eye—it happened. It gave no warning.

The truth lies before her. He gazed steadily into her eyes. Something about their intensity managed to unlock some of the memories she’s cast out of her mind. She needed to turn away. The eye contact is taking down her resolve. She remembers them in foggy recollections of that one fateful night.
