He took his hand away from my grip. “Dexter Anderson,” I warned him and he looked at me emotionless for a while. He suddenly pulled me into another hug. “Fine, hug me until you feel better but later we need to clean your injured hand.” I guess he needs a hug now more than a first aid kit. That can wait. He hummed slowly in my embrace, agreed with my request. Dexter POV

“Someone else is in critical condition. Lately, it’s been all about broken this and severed that. Today, it’s a hand.” Eulalia quickly swallowed her pills and joined Sarah to see what was happening. Soon enough, they saw the patient being rushed in—both hands drenched in blood, lying motionless on the gurney, an oxygen mask covering his face. Eulalia, who usually couldn’t stomach such bloody scenes, was about to look away when she froze. The man on the gurney was none other than Benedict. “Benedict,” she whispered, her face turning ashen. “How could this happen? What happened to Benedict’s hands?” Eulalia stood there, rooted to the spot, her heart sinking.

Alpha Gavinshruggedd me off and kept hitting Brady like a charged bull. And Brady, for some reason, didn’t fight back. Turning to Bentley, I ask for help. Bentley just gave me a blank stare before taking action. I knew he wasn’t happy with Brady either, and I enjoyed seeing him get beaten. But Brady could die from all those hard punches thrown at him. Bentley finally grabbed Alpha Gavin’s arms off Brady. His hands were stained with blood by now. Not his. But Brady’s filthy blood. I ran to Brady to see how hurt he was from the punches.

Bryden turned around and faced two men with laser guns aimed at us. “I would advise you lower your weapons if you know what’s good for you,” I said looking them in the eyes showing them I mean business. They both laughed, “And what are you going to do about it?” One asked still snickering. I smiled at them, “This!” I said as I lifted my hands and created shields around their weapons and jerked them out of their hands so fast they began to look confused and turned to run, but again I used the shield to stop them and knocked them out by banging them into each other.

I sat there in silence for a long minute. The screen with Jane and my father went black. They thought they had won. They thought they had broken me. Suddenly, I felt a hand grab my wrist. I gasped, looking down. Bryan’s eyes were open. He wasn't dead. "The... the vest," he wheezed, his voice barely a sound. I looked at his chest. Under the torn shirt, I saw the edge of a thin, high-tech armor plate. And hidden in the palm of his hand was a small, burst blood pack.

Took the device that Athena handed to him. He immediately went to Eric which is still on the floor, trying to pull his hand from nailed on the floor by Athena's katana.
