Her Darkest Desires

Her Darkest Desires

"A... used one?" "A romantic mystery," you said, showing her the front. "It's from the seventies, and is about a female detective who gets involved with the man who hires her to investigate his wife's murder. I'm hoping it's got Castle vibes." "Not today," you smiled.

" She put the book face down on her home desk as let her mind fit the pieces of the puzzle together. She hadn't been called on to use her skills in a long time, but she hadn't gone rusty while resting on her laurels. A look at her watch told her that it was too late to go back to the Davis's residence and tomorrow was a Sunday followed by a holiday. She decided she was going to go over there the next day anyway, but she needed all the players to be there. How was she going to do that without alerting all involved? That was the question. She had to handle this very carefully so that she didn't lose the thread of the plot. She needed to corner the guilty as soon as she made the writings in the

Ryan asked as he played with my hair. “Well she told me that she suspected Gabriel to be in illegal dealings with a man.” I tried remembering his name but I forgot. “I forgot the name of the man. She said Most of his secret files were in his office which were kept in a safe. She said that the safe was hidden at the back of a portrait in the office, she said she couldn't open it and when he caught her loitering around he beat her to stupor.” I explained everything to Ryan. “He is one heartless man.” Ryan answered and I agreed with him.

"Pack life is... less inhibited than human society." Inside the bag, they found several leather-bound volumes with ancient-looking symbols embossed on their covers, a small wooden box carved with lunar phases, and a sealed envelope addressed to "Detective Richard O'Connor, Newly Awakened." "Your brother has a flair for the dramatic," Rick observed, holding up the envelope. "All Blackwoods do," Nathaniel said with a hint of amusement. "It's practically genetic." Tied Up By My Hot Professor

They keep law books on the second floor mezzanine, which is potentially the darkest and creepiest area of this place. Once I get to the top of the stairs, I glance down at the piece of paper with the title of the book on. Legendary assassins and their downfall. The shelves are all sorted in alphabetical order, so I find L fast and then search through the plethora of books, looking for the one I need. The same creeping sensation that I’m being watched sweeps over me as I glance down onto the ground floor level toward the door, wondering if I wouldn’t have heard someone enter. “What are you looking for?”

BEAUTY AND THE BODYGUARD: DANGEROUS DESIRE BOOK 2

BEAUTY AND THE BODYGUARD: DANGEROUS DESIRE BOOK 2

That would be emotional suicide. I moved away from the romance section quickly, like it might contaminate me somehow. Crime thriller. I'd read a crime thriller. Something with murder and investigations and absolutely zero sexual tension. That was safer. Much safer. I browsed the mystery section and pulled out a book I'd heard good things about. A detective novel set in London. Dark, gritty, complex. Perfect. I carried it to one of the comfortable chairs by the window and settled in. The chair was incredibly comfortable—soft leather that seemed to mold around me. There was a small side table with a reading lamp. A footstool I could put my feet up on.
