He asked, his voice low and dangerous. “I would rather die in the hands of a real man, a man of his words, a real warrior than die in the hands of a pathetic excuse like Marcus,” I said. “And my bravery would add a lot to your pack. I am willing to serve you till my last breath.” “Serve me? To last your last breath you say?” Fenrir asked, his gaze hard and cold. “Do not lie to me or try to trick me. I hate lies and detest liars.”

Lila could not believe that the monsters she was expecting turned out to be really sweet people. With the way his mom welcomed her from the door, one would never believe that there was truly a war going on between both families. It made her wonder if it was only her family that was keeping up the war or if the Beaumont family was just a bunch of really good actors. She was leaning towards the latter because there was no way they were going to be really sweet towards her that way.

I like taking my time, that way, I can get used to the idea of living with Xander. Sitting behind the counter in the bookstore, I listen to Vincent talking to his cars while I place an order for new books. One of those books is The Art of War by Sun Tsu. I want to read it and see why Alexei loves it so much. My thoughts turn to the BBQ, and I must admit, I enjoyed it a lot. And Rosemarie was right. Everyone seemed pretty normal. I don’t know what I expected. Maybe guns and men smoking cigars while plotting the end of the world?

"I understand everything." "You understand emotions. You do not understand people." The words hit harder than any attack. The boy looked away. For a brief second, he truly looked like a wounded child. Then the darkness around him trembled. "People created wars." His voice lost its innocence. "They betrayed each other." The white world began shaking. "They killed their own children." The shadows became larger. "They destroyed worlds in the name of justice and called themselves heroes." Evelyn remained standing. Because he was not entirely wrong.

We have phones for that. My thoughts whirl. Nothing in these books has given me any sort of idea of how I could end this war without being shipped off like a prized pig. Most of it includes accounts of some of the worst battles; ones where too many lives were lost. I’m surprised both Shifters and Wyres have survived any of it.

what if I die in this battle? Levi:your majesty I know the feeling I too experienced the same feeling for the first time when I went to war but sadly my fears came true when I saw my father and brother killed before my very eyes (cries a little looking down)I sometimes wish I had been killed instead of captured yet I know I continued living for a reason and it was to avenge my brother and father's death. So king quitanus (looks at him)I swear to do everything possible for you to stay alive and for you to see your family again.

Several soldiers who had overheard their conversation immediately began whispering among themselves, clearly interested. “Hey, how long has it been since they last dueled?” “I want to see this.” “Steven’s definitely going to lose this time.” “I agree. Zach’s got the advantage. Otherwise, why wouldn’t Steven accept his challenge?” One soldier commented excitedly, “Whoa, this is going to be the most interesting duel ever.” “Huh? What’s so interesting about it? They duel all the time.” The soldier shot his friend a disdainful look. “Hey, you really don’t get it, do you? They’ve both been promoted to War Commanders. If they duel now, it’ll be their first duel since receiving those titles. Isn’t

I can’t remember our pack ever going to war with any other packs except rogues, and even then, we only fought when they attacked us in our own home. “We did what had to be done. All is fair in war, and in war, one side must lose for the victor to emerge. They’ve already caused us so much, it’s only right we repay the favour twice as blunt,” another man spoke, and the rest of the people grunted in approval.

“He burned it, Seth! He burned down my fucking bar!” “Damn it! Did he hurt you?! Where the fuck are you?!” “I just got in my car.” “Come back now!” I hung up the phone before I wiped the tears from my face. I wish someone could smack me or at lease wake me up and say that that was all a fucking dream. But, as I drove away from my normal location, I turned my attention to the bar that was getting massacred by the fire. That was not a dream at all. It was a fucking nightmare. That was not all that was, that was calling of a war.

“I’ll hold them off.” Reina nodded, and they quickly slipped out the back door. Russe turned to face the incoming men, drawing out his claws. “F*&k you!” He had faced many battles before, but he knew that this one would be different. These men were not like the shadowy figures in the forest. They were real humans, and they were armed.
