Still, for now, she let herself believe in the moment. Gabriel brushed his thumb over her knuckles. “When I was younger, I thought silence meant emptiness. Loneliness. But with you…” His eyes softened. “The silence between us is full. It’s alive. It’s everything I never thought I’d have.” Lucy’s lips curved, her tears slipping free at last. “Then let’s protect it. No matter what comes.” He drew her close, pressing a kiss to her hair. “Together,” he murmured.

Gathering his courage, he walked toward her. “Mind if I join you?” Daniel asked, his voice low but cheerful. Alice opened her eyes and glanced up, her calm demeanor shifting to a more guarded one. “It’s a free deck,” she said lightly, gesturing to the seat beside her. "What do we call this? Meeting each other twice in less than twelve hours" Daniel chuckled and sat down, resting his arms on his knees. “Actually, I came here for some me time and I didn’t expect to find you here. I thought this spot was my secret getaway.”

Neither of us moved or crossed the distance between us. We didn’t need to. But somehow the distance between us didn’t feel quite as wide anymore.

"Be nice to each other, I'm not going to change this pair even if your parents themselves complained on your behalf. "Now have a good day." He stated and we got up leaving.

Neither of us spoke. We just breathed.

I felt the realization lock into place between us. “We find her first.”

But by us. Together.

I hope I can. I hope we both can. Together.

We just needed time to arrive at it. We're here now. Both of us. Here.
