It just went very quiet and very still, and I stood in the center of the quiet and watched Fabian push through the crowd and past me and away from me and toward her, and felt something in my chest do something small and permanent that I understood immediately would not be undone.

In the next second, the comments began to fade, reminiscent of fog being blown away by the wind. "We're leaving now. Since The World's Will has disappeared, it's time for us to go too."
