Blood Awakening Chapter 18: Say it, Mari In the darkness, two pairs of silver eyes glimmered like a pale full moon, staring at them intently, burning them like the fires of hell. Their hearts went wild and the pounding is ringing non-stop. “I can take these two,” Sebastian uttered arrogantly, full of self-confidence and ready to attack. The two wolves growled in a low tone, suppressing their anger, but are ready to attack any moment. One wrong move is all that it takes.

Before he can ask me any more questions, I ask, “Dr. Bright, what happened to me?” He smiles and through the mind link, he replies, “According to the Supreme Elder, you are taking on your ultimate form. Based on what I’m seeing in your test results, that means you are physically becoming an Alpha. This is the first time I’ve ever heard or seen anything like this happening. However, the elders have said it has happened in the past.”

Enzo looked genuinely surprised. “No need for name-calling, please,” Aurora said coolly. “As I said earlier out there, we don’t really know your ways. In our world, one would have to be of age to have a soulmate. It just doesn’t happen with…babies.” “Yeah, tell me about it.” Stan drawled. “Babies don’t have mates in our world either. Hell, I’m a grown-ass man but even I don’t have a mate. So we’re just as shocked as you, trust me. But all the signs are there.” He gestured towards Enzo who looked lost in thought. “Your son said he felt a pull. What the fuck did you think it was?”

A U T H O R N O T E I wanted to address the few comments I've received from people frustrated with me only posting a chapter at a time. When Rude Awakenings was signed three months ago, I had just given birth to my third child. I vastly underestimated how popular it would be, and thought I would have a lot more time to write a sequel. Seeing the overwhelming response for Book Two, I made the decision to post my chapters as I write them. Believe me when I say I completely understand how frustrating it is to wait for a chapter, especially when you are so engrossed in a story, but I wanted you all to know that every piece of spare time I have, is spent writing this book. I'm trying my hardest

She’s also mourning the loss of our little one, we both are. She had warned me that Sage was cheating on us, but I was in love. I didn't listen. Maybe if I had paid more attention, things would have been different. I went to a secret corner of the house and removed my clothes, shifted into my wolf, and started running off into the forest. My white fur whipped through the air as I ran faster on my fore and hind limbs. How was I reborn two years back and why? Who is He? And why is he coming?

“They weren’t rogues. They were… organized. Too calm. Too sure of something they thought I was.” Maxine frowned. “Which is?” I hesitated. That word—awakening—still crawled across my spine. I had heard it in the dark, tied to a chair, breath shaking, Myron unconscious beside me. “She’s awakening,” one of them had said. “If we don’t trigger it now, someone else will.” I wrapped my arms around myself. “They kept talking like there was something inside me. Something that was supposed to… emerge.” Maxine blinked. “Like what? A power?”

I controlled my breathing, still pretending to be unconscious, even when I felt Zane pick up my hand and cradle it in his. “Is there any way to wake her up?” the King asked. Again, I opened my mouth to tell them that I was already awake, but I was glad I didn’t, based on what the doctor said next. “Well,” the doctor sighed. “If you are her mate, perhaps you could try the ancient method to wake up your mate.” The ancient method? Again, my heart raced. “Take off your clothes and your mate’s…” Before I could finish listening to Dr. Devonworth's explanation, a dizzy sensation swept over me, and I slipped back into darkness...

Then, the voice orders me, it's small and unnoticed but it grows more and more insistent, bringing me back to consciousness with each second that passes. My eyes open and a gasp escapes me, all at once, the pain returns. It consumes me, totally. I have no true beginning and no true end. The pain is all that I am. I let out a scream. My body feels like it's on fire, and everything hurts.

Kaikuh thought as her system replied. "Investing all your points to awaken your new mind power. Mind point invested, remaining 10 points left. New ability in progress, new ability found. New objective, survive a few minutes without the system. Reward, awaken your new power" "What's all this messages popping up, it's hard to follow up. Wait, did I just hear survive without my ability, no I need to recheck" Kaikuh thought as she saw the message written boldly, "New objective, survive a few minutes without the system"
