I prayed quietly, desperately, that it would never end. That we would stay like this forever, wild, in love, and utterly free. No past chasing us. No future chaining us. Just us together.
Then Blood Moon had arrived. The night was quiet, eerily so. The sky had begun its slow transformation, the once gentle moonlight bleeding into crimson.
We sat together just outside our tent, shoulders touching, eyes fixed on the deepening red hue above. It wasn't bright enough to illuminate the forest, so Zevarion lit the two candles we had left.
