I let out a gasp so loud that the Sacerdote pauses in his sermon before continuing. Thomas’s gaze is fixed on me, his intense green eyes cutting through the rain to meet mine. Xareth’s voice cracked through the room like lightning splitting a tree. In one swift motion, he seized her by the throat and lifted her clean off the ground. Her legs flailed mid-air, her fingers clawing desperately at his hand. “I warned you,” he growled, low and lethal. “If you dare meddle in my affairs again, or defy my rule, I’ll send you back to the Black Abyss.” The Black Abyss? Even through the pain clouding my thoughts, that phrase echoed in my mind. People say cruel things when they're angry, but that didn’t sound like a metaphor. That sounded like a place.

At the very heart of that ring stood Theodore. He was larger than the memory that lingered in stories told in the hinterland. Where some alphas forwent size for cunning, he had both in cruel measure. His shoulders cut a broad silhouette against the torchlight; the black of his coat drank the flames. His eyes burned with a red that seemed to have been carved in the night itself. I order my usual drink and settle in. I don’t have to wait long. The light dims gradually and a new track starts, slower than the last. The men don’t waste any time coming out, with Theodore being last. Once he steps onto the stage, everyone disappears. He’s wearing a crisp black tie that hangs loosely around his neck, paired with sheer black pants that leaves nothing to the imagination. That fabric clings to every part of that lower body, especially the curve of his ass as he moves. He has on a full face mask, but I will recognize that posture, that walk, and those shoulders anywhere.

It looks like there was a tail wagging behind him while his eyes sparkled. Meanwhile, Theodore was following them from behind quietly and Soheila walked towards him. Theodore wore a black t-shirt that outlines some of his perfect muscles and his upper body proportions. He wore black pants and black shoes which made him look handsome, charismatic, and mysterious. His ruby eyes stared at the chiastolite shining eyes of Soheila.

THEODORE ENTERED CLAUDETTE’S STUDY ROOM AFTER HER TUTOR WENT OUT to finally go home. It was already three in the afternoon so he brought her afternoon tea. “Theodore, look,” after Theodore served her tea and a piece of red velvet cake, he showed her something from her laptop. “Our lesson in Biology. My tutor mentioned the list of the poisonous snakes in the world and the second one caught my attention.” Theodore read the text on Claudette’s laptop. “Black Mamba.”

Seeing Jaxon and Mia looking like they glue each other, Rey glared at Gavin who looked innocently at everyone. “Blacky is not wrong, he just wants to play. You know already, he likes women,” said Gavin which made all the men there snort in disapproval. “I told you to keep the snake in his cage, Gavin,” Gideon hissed. “Imagine if it was Kalista, she might give birth prematurely.” All the men there shuddered at the thought of Kalista with her big belly climbing a chair and running around the room being chased by Blacky. “Usually Blacky is very sweet,” Gavin defended against his snake which looked at the men around with its round eyes as its body squirmed about to come to its master.

As she pointed him out Theodore rolled his head looking up at Mortis and sure enough the stone calm teddy bear had an arrow protruding from his forehead. "W-Well t-they don't mind!
