CRIMSON SKY

CRIMSON SKY

I was thinking of the owls—pitch black owls, the color of a moonless, starless night, their bodies sleek and shining like it had been carefully oiled with gel, and their eyes also a dark shade of black with a tiny round ash at the outer edges. Once, a long time ago, I looked into the eye of one of these black owls. One second I was staring at its eyes captivated by the twinkling light glowing within them, the next, I found myself lost in the dark dreary depths, severe pain lancing through me as I felt something wrenching out of my body painfully slow—I was so sure it was my soul leaving me. I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t breathe, nothing. And then the feeling stopped just as

FIVE– She gazed at me. Those honey eyes read out a melancholic story, like the music on a violin, and for a second, I saw the image of a boy with big gray eyes that held the same look. The boy had walked through hell, knowing how it looked, how it smelled, how it hurt. It was me. I had to take a deep breath to remind myself I was breathing. A familiar pain blossomed in my chest like someone had punched it. Amber Blackwaters could be many things, but she was not the annoying girl whom I had to handle for years. Then what was she?

“Mhm.” James nodded. Just as he stood up and was about to enter the room, a rain droplet dripped from the roof onto his face. Instinctively, he raised his hand and wiped the droplet off his face. However, upon wiping his face, he froze. His palm was black. “A-A black rain droplet?” Wearing a sullen expression, James raised his head and looked at the pitch-black sky. “Has the day finally come?” Rumble!

This end is terrible. I strongly believe there is a volume 2 or part 2. I refuse to be left hanging and thinking of a million ways the whole thing played out. Patiently waiting for volume 2............

Blood And Water

Blood And Water

Blood and Water is a story that points to a civil war in West Africa, Nigeria and the hovering hunger for survival by two teenage boys. Hope you enjoy. Completed version with no coins for now. Make sure you drop your reviews... *** Rumours of a War A proverb says that when it rains everyday, there is a bound of sorrow within the rain. Maybe we were not that rich but we were happy or we claimed to be. The only problem was that I was no longer in school. I think I liked it that way, school stress was so hard especially now that I was in the junior secondary.

The Millionaire's Bride

The Millionaire's Bride

When she found herself on the western side of the iconic range, she took the chance to soak up the beautiful sight. Her favorite tumbler, the one with the purple owl that read, “I don’t give a hoot,” kept her supplied with coffee. Rolling the window down half an inch, she breathed in the brisk air that filled her senses with the pine and mountains of home. The wind picked up her long chocolate-brown hair and twirled it into knots, but she didn’t care. There wasn’t a place on God’s green earth that was better than Blackwater. She might live in the city now, but she was a country girl at heart. A loud ring filled her car, startling her just as a robotic booming voice said, “Incoming call from

I enjoyed each of the sweet stories. However, I am not sure how the characters of Gabe and Celina in story two became Brian and Leah in story three while all the other characters, including their daughter, kept the same names.

The story in the introduction is Chapters 1-24. Then it’s different stories with new characters (Ch 25-55; 56-84; 85-117). Love how the relationships developed between Alexa & Salvatore / Celina & Gabe / Sara & Ian / Camille & Noah. Love how God, prayer, and faith were emphasized in each story.

ALPHA Arthur: The Mate Who Lied

ALPHA Arthur: The Mate Who Lied

I write the words quickly, the ink bleeding into the paper like a bruise. I gave you my soul; thank you for giving it back. You will look for me in every person you meet, but you will never find me again. I leave the note on top of the papers. I leave the pregnancy results facedown beside it. Let him find it when I’m gone. Let the realization rot him from the inside out when he realizes he traded a son for a ghost from his past. I walk out the front doors. The rain is a deluge, a freezing curtain of water that soaks through my thin sweater in seconds. The Blackwood estate is a fortress of pine trees and shadows. I trek toward the border, the mud sucking at my boots, trying to pull me back in

Looking straight into his eyes, she said— “I’m not the same girl anymore, Mr. Blackwood… who would run behind you… or get impressed by your actions.” Her voice turned sharp— “I’m different now.” “I’m like water… I can quench thirst— but I can also become a tsunami and destroy everything.” 👿 “There are no limits to me. Remember that.” With that— she pushed him away and stepped out of the car, walking straight into the college. 😡 Inside the car— Daniel leaned back, closing his eyes. A faint smile appeared on his lips. “Then my thirst isn’t ordinary either…” he murmured. “Only a storm like you can satisfy it.”

Drowning in Regret

] Tears welled up unexpectedly, and when I touched my cheek, my fingers came away wet. So, they had already made a vow like that long ago. No wonder he had jumped so decisively in our last life despite how fiercely he usually clung to survival. My heart finally shattered completely. I looked at the rapidly rising water, took a deep breath, and jumped in.

king macachorburrbandcrossed
Mary, her name flashed in his mind. Seconds later the car splashed onto the water headlong. It dove and dipped toward the bottom of a dark pit, head first. What he heard seconds later was the hissing sound of the motor upon hitting the cool water . . . There was bubbling . . . The headlights went off and total darkness abound. Stillness stopped his heart. It was interminable. The sound of death was audible. He felt his mind drawn farther into space, into a black void, but he blenched at the immensity of such dark oblivion. So, this is how it’s like, Mary. No pain, no suffering, only fear. Wait. I’m going your way, Mary. Wait for me. Wait. Then his senses knocked him on the head, like the ban
