He stepped away from the noise, Wyatt following with a questioning look. Kade answered. “Report.” Ironridge’s intel officer spoke quickly. “We finished cross-referencing the old logs, Alpha. The attack eleven years ago—Silvermoon wasn’t destroyed by rogues. It was hit by a coalition. Multiple packs working together. And one of them was Blackwater.”

The night after the ridge felt heavier than the battle itself. Blackpine’s courtyard bore the evidence of wolves who had fought, bled, and buried their own. Ash still clung to the stones, smoke lingered in the rafters of the hold, and grief moved like a shadow among the living.

They had never suffered such a big loss before. Immediately, the White Tiger warcraft launched an attack. Both sides opened fire, and flames of explosions spread wind and sand in the sky. The battle lasted a long time and did not stop until the White Tiger warcraft fled one after another. His black wolf was massive and terrifying as he launched himself at the first wave of attackers. The other warriors shifted too and suddenly the road was chaos. Snarling and blood amd the sound of bones breaking.

“Names being thrown around ... Zac’s, RedMoon’s.” I felt my hands grow colder. Zac. The word tasted like ash and old blood. He should be dead...those nights, the fight...but men die messily in our world. His name being used as a banner meant someone was rallying against us. It was never just a whisper; it was a call to arms. “Who’s listening?” I asked. Rowan spread a map on the table with tokens marking territories. “Three small packs on the eastern ridge, and...” He hesitated. “And the Blackwater coalition is asking questions. They’ve got old grudges. They’ve been in the shadows since Zac fell.”

For one suspended second, nobody moved. Rain hammered the docks. Thunder rolled low across the water. Somewhere behind them, engines idled beneath the storm while armed men waited for orders that hadn’t come yet. But all Aria heard was Daniel’s voice repeating inside her head. Blackwater House is burning again. And Blackwood. The real battle was about to begin.

“They were sane.” The entire hall stilled. “They fought like warriors aware of every strike. One even begged for death, saying he was being called back to the roots. We burned the remains, but the ground beneath them...” she glanced at Lucifer..“it bled blood but not crimson, it was black" Next was Alpha Cade Dauntless Evergreen, of Riverdale Pack, master of water. His presence was calm yet powerful, like the rivers he commanded. “The attacks reached us shortly after the Knight River incident. The rogues came through the mist along our bay. When I drowned one to stop his rampage, the water turned black. It was alive, writhing with something unnatural.”

Maddox Village had sustained heavy losses in the great battle on Mossy Hill. At the beginning of the battle, both sides had about fifty to sixty warriors. At first, both parties were evenly matched. But, after Dark Occult used various evil Kodoku and even released a sort of poisonous gas against them, the Maddox Village warriors lost their combat abilities in a short time under the shroud of toxic gas. After that, they were mercilessly slaughtered by Dark Occult. Out of fifty people, nearly half of them died in the battle, including two elders. On the other hand, Xanthus Meryem had led a group of a dozen men to kill their way out of the siege, and was now being pursued by Dark Occult.
