Just how I liked it. By the time I finished, my scalp burned slightly, a prickling reminder of the lengths I was willing to go. I washed my hands, the cold water soothing against my skin. As I rinsed off the bleach, droplets splattered against the porcelain sink, swirling down the drain. Then a honk startled me. Short. Loud. Annoying.

Despite my grip on his wrist, despite pulling with everything I had, he continued moving his hand toward the glowing surface. His muscles were tense beneath my fingers, but his resolve was unshakeable. I watched in absolute horror as his palm made contact with the hot induction cooktop. The sound was subtle but sickening - skin meeting heated glass. The smell hit me a moment later, acrid and nauseating. Tears began streaming down my face immediately. "Gael, please! Please take your hand away! I wasn't serious - I was just angry! Please, your hand is burning!" My voice rose to near hysteria as I continued pulling at his arm, trying desperately to break his contact with the heated surface.

I could not see anything visible, so I released him from the hold I had on him. He fell to the ground, writhing on the floor. “I bent down and touched his skin. I removed my hand, as his skin burned my hand. “What is happening?” I asked him. “I am burning up,” he yelled, as I watched his skin start to blister. Given the extreme heat I could not do anything to help ease his pain.

His hands were cold, really cold and I was hot like lava, he hissed as he removed his hands from my body quickly, I noted the angry red welts on his hands before they healed. “You….” he started, “you’re burning up” that was an understatement. I just couldn’t process anything at that point. He just grabbed me, groaning in pain and ran out of the toilet towards our own bathroom. I had the vague sense of something burning, right before he thrust me into a shower that was already running,

I don’t even feel that I have been burned by hot water. I was even more flustered because of how worried he was. “Good thing it’s just small. But it might get blistered. Do you have some petroleum jelly or something?” He asked. I quickly get it in my bedroom. He applied some to my hand. I don’t know how long he’s holding my hand but he was gentle the whole time. I looked at his face while he's busy applying a jelly in my burned area.

“Clean it again.” My mouth opened slightly, words bubbling at the edge of my throat, but I bit them back. I knelt with the mop, dragging it carefully over the tea-stained spot, my fingers close to the heat. Then—another splash. This time not on the floor. A searing burn screamed across my skin. I cried out—an involuntary, sharp gasp of pain as the hot liquid struck the back of my right hand. The mop fell from her grip. I jerked back, cradling her hand. The skin pulsed red and raw.

This is the first time I have ever seen her like this, and she wasn't sick all these days. Not knowing what to do, I decided to pull her up from the bed and carry her to the bathroom, thinking maybe taking a cold shower would help her. But as soon as my fingers made contact with the back of her neck, searing pain shot through my palm like I'd grabbed a hot coal. "Ah!" I jerked my hand back, staring at my fingers in shock, my skin already turning red, the skin blistering as if I had been burned. The pain was so intense that tears sprang to my eyes.

He hissed softly and his face twisted in pain “I don’t understand” I pulled my hand off his chest looking at my palm not understanding “Look” Theo’s face was no longer pained but now just as confused as my own When I looked down at his chest I clearly seen a burn mark in the shape of my hand on the spot I touched but I didn’t understand how that was possible “How in the-“ “I have no idea Doll, I should healing by now and it’s not” “I hurt you?!” I gasped “Seems like it” His bright cerulean blue’s where locked onto my face as he searched it for anything to help figure out what just happened

The stripe across my palm was vivid now, raised slightly at its center. “It’s fine,” I said. “It doesn’t look fine.” He moved toward the sink but kept a deliberate distance from me, going around the long way, not passing close. He turned the cold tap on and held his hand under it briefly to check the temperature. “Burns need cold water for at least ten minutes. If you don’t it stays painful longer than it has to.” I looked at the running water. Then I crossed to the sink and held my hand under it. The cold was immediate relief. I exhaled without meaning to.

I turned the faucet on and let the tub fill with cold water. I dipped myself under the embrace of the cold water to calm down the iching that was on my skin. There were several red patches over the skin and the burning didn't stop at all. The cold water does ease the burning but not for too long. After spending a good time in the water, I stepped out and inspected the patches on my chest, some of them were blistering as if I was set on fire.
