A painting hangs beside his desk. I don’t know why it draws me in, but I find myself walking closer. Thick strokes of midnight blue and charcoal gray layer the canvas. In the center — barely visible unless you truly look — a thin streak of gold cuts through the darkness. Not bright. Not loud. Just there. A quiet fracture of light. It isn’t something you glance at. It’s something you feel. My fingers almost lift to touch the textured paint. Why would a blind man choose something so visual?

Dark and filled with fear which made my cholls run down my spine. I heard a few inaudible voices. Failing to understand what was going on I felt the urge to open my eyes but they were too heavy. The moment I was able to so the light blinded me.I closed them fast before slowly opening them again adjsuting to the brightness of the room.

“Security posts rotate every twelve minutes. But there’s a problem.” I lifted my head, “What?” “There’s no blind spot.” “There’s no house without a blind spot,” I leaned back, carefully studying the spread. The study went on. Minutes dragged as we pored over every inch. My eyes began to blur on the plan, so I requested the digital blueprint. A powerful man like Don had targets everywhere and it was no surprise that there would be no obvious blind spot. Tension thickened in the room while we kept searching. “There it is,” I muttered, rubbing my eyes to ease the burn. “Blind spots run beside the service tunnel.”
