"What do you mean by this, Summer Lang?! We took care of you when you turned blind. What are you doing now?! Do you even know—" Before he could finish, I took a few steps forward and picked up the phone he dropped on the floor. I put it in his pocket. All three of them looked at me with shock as I took off my sunglasses and blinked at them. "Who told you I was blind? I can see pretty well." Edward stood in shock as his face turned pale.

I said, and he nodded his head before he moved to place the blindfold over my eyes, making sure I couldn't see anything before He retracted. For a while neither of them moved, but I could feel their eyes scanning me all over, and it was only making me wetter, which I could only try to hide by squeezing my thighs together. Red marks bloom across the screen: blind spots, choke points, places where men disappear quickly. “They want us contained,” Jose continues. “They want us reacting instead of controlling.” One of the men—Rafe, left flank—lets out a quiet breath through his nose. No objection. Just acknowledgment. I lean against the wall, arms crossed, watching the map without really seeing it. My mind keeps drifting—back to Nina’s face when she asked me not to disappear. The warmth of her hands. The way trust looks when it’s given without armor. I force myself back.

She felt the mate bond, steady as always, Jax somewhere above her with the children. She felt old Ruth in the garden. She felt Ryder and Blake at school, their twin bond a low steady hum at the edge of awareness. She felt Isla and Caden — both asleep, both present. A territory that could feel itself. Every nerve ending sang with a desperate, ancient yearning, her inner wolf crying out to bridge the impossible distance between them. The fated mate bond hummed beneath her skin like a live wire, stripping away her defenses piece by piece. "Please, just open your eyes." Jung-Ho lightly pats Sook-Ja's cheek. The young girl, whose lifeless body is next to him, and he is kneeling. He is to blame for her current state. While returning from work, she was involved in an accident. He cries out, "Open your eyes," as his own eyes begin to blur. His skull is bruised, and tears are running down his face. He moves his fingers lightly to stroke the side of her cheek. When his hand accidentally bumps against a brand-new wound, he struggles to contain his sobs. It aches worse than anything I've ever experienced, which makes the suffering unbearable. The car is on fire and the flames are rising high into the sky.

My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. So for right now, it is a goodbye unit next month. Sorry for the delay. -L.N.F

When he tried to comfort me, I rejected him, "Stop pretending! I don't want to hear it!" He opened his mouth but couldn't say a word, just staring at me blankly. His eyes showed rare regret, but I had no interest in forgiving him. Nathan's gaze shifted from my hardened profile to my leg. He suddenly frowned, "Your leg... it's bleeding badly." The left leg of my pants was stained with an alarming patch of red. Blood was dripping down my calf onto the car mat, a horrifying sight. "Thanks to you, this leg might be ruined forever."

I folded, coughing so hard my stomach cramped. Someone grabbed my face and I flinched violently, the world tilting as I was forced upright and the blindfold ripped off. Light burned my eyes and I winced, blinking hard through the blur. Everything doubled. My vision was shit without glasses—smears of shadows and color. But one thing stood out. A man. Massive. Buzzed hair. Covered in ink. Crouching low in front of me, studying me like I was meat on a slab. His fingers dug into my chin and tilted my head to the side.
