"Klaus, this soldier is mine. Why would he listen to you?” Hommes smirked, releasing my face as he stepped closer to Klaus, standing only inches away.
“Kneel, Klaus. Don’t make me repeat myself.” Hommes’s tone was calm, but it carried a menacing edge.
“No! Klaus, don’t do it!” I shook my head frantically, unable to bear the thought of Klaus humiliating himself for my sake. Tears blurred my vision as I struggled in vain against my bonds, the soldier behind me growing impatient and slicing my neck lightly with his blade.
