He coughed and spat blood onto the floor. His breathing became heavy. But I was not done. I reached forward and grabbed a fistful of his black hair, yanking his head backward with brutal force.

My tongue grazes against sharp, elongated ivory. My fangs have slipped out. The vampire is rising. I snap my eyes shut. "Good," Betty commands, her voice moving closer. "Hold your breath for ten seconds. That should be a piece of cake for you. And whatever you do, do not laugh." Do not laugh? What is she talking about? Suddenly, two hands dig sharp fingers into my ribs. Betty attacks me, her fingers wiggling violently against my sides. I gasp, trying to twist away, but a pair of massive, muscular arms lock around my waist from behind. Ian holds me pinned against his chest while Betty continues her assault.

I knew I deserved this—maybe even more than this. "Love?" Betty's voice was raw, her eyes bore into mine, glistening with unshed tears and pure hate. "Don’t you dare. I won’t let you get away with this. I won’t let you and these monsters destroy our alpha !” Her words were sharp “I’m going to tell Alpha Hudson everything. Right now.” “No, Betty, please—” Panic clawed at me as she turned on her heel to leave, her steps quick. But before she could take another step, Moora appeared behind her, swift and silent. With a deadly precision, she swung a heavy object at Betty’s head, and a sickening thud echoed in the room.

Violet walked towards her, and happily hugged her from behind, but a sharp grip on her hand made her squeal in pain. “Betty…why??” She asked as she struggled to free herself from her grip. Betty smiled, dipped her hand into her pocket and forced something down Violet's throat. Violet coughed so hard as the object traveled down her throat. “I have just fed you the Viper's throng, a deadly poison. I have taken care of you all this while, it's time to make use of you.” Betty smirked as she pushed Violet to the floor. She crossed her palms on her abdomen and walked around Violet who groaned in pain.

Dee & Jay both chorused – “A Bet?” Bibiana said – “Yes, a bet. We all know Dee can’t keep a job for more than one week” to which Danielle looked at her with a scowl, she smiled and continued – “but now that her dad has gotten another job for her as usual. If the boss turns out to be a man, single of course. Both of you will have to make him fall in love with you. Whoever turns out successful is the winner and the other will be tagged a wimp”. She paused for effect “for life”.
