It wasn't Holden, it wasn't Crimson, but it smelt like shit. ROGUES. There were three grey raggedy wolves looking in my direction, all of them with glowing red eyes as a mixture of saliva and blood dripped from their mouths. They locked eyes with me, slowly stepping in my direction. I knew this was going to get messy, but this time I was ready. I had to let my wolf take complete control if I were to survive. I shifted in a matter of a few seconds. My eyes widened as I crouched forward, canines and claws ready to pounce on my first victim. I've never felt so ready in my life and there was no turning back.

Something kept bugging me. These wolves seemed to have known about our modus operandi. They already knew that we don't do much attacking whenever we were surrounded like this, we only did our best to guard our territory. "Alpha, it seems these wolves are only interested in wasting our time. They aren't rogues. They are wolves from a wild pack, or mercenaries." I heard one of my men speak to me. I had thought as much. Rogues are usually uncontrollable in battle once their blood thirst gets a hold of them and they can't see things clearly because their eyes turn crimson as they no longer belong to a pack.

I didn't want to die so I fought the best I could, and so did Ralph but he had gotten injured and his performance was reducing. "Ralph!!" I screamed as more rogues covered his body, they were going to kill him!! That was until more wolves came out of nowhere, the one that caught my eye was a black wolf with vicious red eyes and a white once with silver eyes and they were killing rogues relentlessly. Especially that black one, it was almost unstable. More wolves came out and I was relieved, it must have been back up.

"The gunfire drew them. This just became a three-way fight." The first wave of feral wolves burst from the treeline, their eyes glowing red with hunger and madness. They didn't care about territories or politics, they only wanted blood and meat. Fresh corpses scattered across the battlefield would be an irresistible feast. "Move, now!" Kade hauled me to my feet as the rogues crashed into both Nightfang and Lucien's forces with savage fury.

"You fight for scraps while I build an empire." Evelyn stepped forward, heart hammering. "Let him go." "He betrayed his blood," Rhodes said. "And you? You don’t even know what yours is." Evelyn didn’t blink. Her claws extended. "I don’t need to know what I am," she said. "I know what I fight for." Rhodes smiled, cruel and cold. "Then let’s end this." The wolves charged. And the precinct became a battlefield. The precinct burned. Ash drifted through the air like black snow, and every breath Evelyn took felt laced with smoke and memory. The wolves had come in waves — not lab-born, not controlled — but wild. Ancient. Called by blood, not by science.

Haley It seems blood red wolves have used this book as a journal and it gets passed down to the next one. The last entry is from the fifties. I can’t believe what I am reading. This has got to be some sick joke right? ‘December 1952 A dark witch has successfully created a potion that will make a blood red wolf obedient to her master. There is no known cure at this time. My mother is lost, gone and I’m never going to get her back. Blood red wolves beware, trust no one. I have gone into hiding deep in the woods where no humans or wolves live.
