Blurred Vision Upon Waking Up Novels & Stories

BLAISE It’s cold. I blink, eyelids heavy. The right underside of my neck aches with a dull pain, as if I’d slept on it wrong last night. There are blurs of gold, lines streaking vertically across my vision. I blink again, eyes creasing together. The lines slowly come into focus. At first, I’d thought that I was dreaming.

I opened my eyes but with the sunlight shining my eyes, I squinted my eyes to refrain any sunlight coming to my eyes and not get my headaches any more worse. I turned to the other side and opened my eyes a little. It was blurry and I couldn't see anything. I closed my eyes tight again and opened my eyes slowly. The blurriness slowly fades away. As the blurriness ran away, a familiar shirtless human was sleeping at my side of the bed. Oh no. Oh no no no! What happened last night? Why don't I have a memory of the night before. Please don't let this be what I think it is.

By morning, I was having a swollen eye which was a result of lack of sleep, I also had a terrible headache thereby making my vision blur. I had a quick shower in my room and came downstairs for breakfast. Lesley was already sitting on the table, looking as handsome as ever. His piercing grey gaze fixated on me the moment he heard my footsteps on the stairs thereby making weak in the knee. "How are you feeling now?" He asked as I took my sit opposite him.

I was too tired. I would try to find my blurry and missing memories when I woke up. ***** A mild beeping sound woke me up. I shifted a little and a groan slipped past my lips. I paused so my body could get used to the position I was in before opening my eyes. I was not seeing any red in my vision. White and blue walls came into my sight. Minimal decorations spiced the room up. It wasn't ostentatious but it kept the room from being bland.

She came over to me and shined the light pen in my eyes and I blinked against the brightness. “How bad is it?” “The medication takes the edge off of it, but we are working our way up to an 8 out of 10 even with the pills.” Her smile turned to a frown. “Your pupils are a little slower to respond to the light. Have you been sleeping well?” I shook my head. “I get about three to four hours a night. During that time, I see…or dream…flashes of things I don’t remember. Sometimes I feel and can’t see. Sometimes everything is blurry. But I just wake up in a cold sweat.”

As I closed my eyes, I resolved to rise stronger, wiser, and more mindful of the consequences that awaited those who. I groggily opened my eyes, my head throbbing mercilessly as if it were being squeezed in a vice. The room spun around me in a dizzying swirl of colors and shapes. I squinted, trying to focus, but everything seemed hazy and distorted. Blinking several times, I attempted to clear my blurred vision, desperate to make sense of my surroundings.

My vision blurs “I… I think so.” I hear people rushing toward us, shouting. Sirens wail in the distance. My eyelids feel heavy. I try to stay awake, but the world around me blurs and the voices fade into nothing. Then, darkness. - When I wake, the harsh fluorescent lights of the hospital burn my eyes. A dull ache throbs in my arm, but I can tell nothing is broken. My head is pounding, though, and the sheets beneath me are proof that I’m not at home. I sigh, running a hand through my hair as I adjust to my surroundings.

I close and open my eyes a few times, trying to force myself to stay awake and focus on the fight. However, the dark black spots are slowly creeping through my vision, making the blurry figures even worse. I don’t know how long they were fighting for and as they were both really blurry, I tried to move back as one of the blurry figures started walking back toward me, not knowing which one won.

I think, groaning as I crack the bones in my neck and focus my attention back on the road that has the outhouse on its end. My vision sharpens even more as time sneaks by, and I blink rapidly to adjust to a view without minute smudges or blurs. It works, but the lightness in my head does not disappear. Mikael had commented that whatever I'd been given after I fell unconscious was the reason for my blurred vision. So, I'm pretty sure the theory also applies to my faint dizziness.

I calmed myself down and ease my irritation. My eyes are still sleepy and half-closed. I tried opening my eyes, but I couldn't see anything. All I could see is blurry pictures. I can't even identify what's in front of me. Whenever I open my eyes, it hurts. So, when I forcefully open it, they can't help but shed small tears. I yawned, stretching my arms and limbs. Grabe! What a euphoric feeling. I did have a good night's sleep, all thanks to these soft pillows, blankets, and bed.
