Novel & Cerita Book Review Picture

Kennedy POV. The weather was bad, but I needed to get that new book, it's Robert birthday gift, who'd knew a grown up man would kill for the newest werewolf love book. I got into my car, drove carefully toward the local book store, they had the new book reserved for me. It was supposed to one quick drive, until I walked into the library. A girl was sitting on a bean bag, her blond hair was covering her eyes with overgrown bangs, she tried to huff them away from her face but to no use. She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

I eye the two remaining books, one remarkably slender, the other easily twice the breadth of either of its predecessors. ‘Only one way to find out.’ I reach for the larger of the two and it takes both hands to lift it from the shelf. The first thing I notice is the detailed tooling of three wolves. The middle wolf sits, head tilted towards the moon, the other two either side of her, standing guard. I don’t know for sure that’s what the scene depicts, but that is what my mind makes of it. There is an uncanny resemblance to Justice, Max and Caleb.

From what I hear, they seem to value it very highly. When he finally stops, I also stop at a particularly thick book called Werewolves, Spires, and Shifters: Complete Edition. On the front is a picture of a menacing werewolf ready to devour a human and a human fighting a truly horrible Shifter with a strange spear. I pull it off the rest, hiding it behind me.

Especially now. I smiled softly as I kept flipping through the book, letting the steady rhythm calm me until my hand froze on a particular page. Something in the image snagged at me like a hook causing me to sit upright instantly. “Look,” I whispered, my voice tight as I beckoned her closer. Elaris pushed herself up and leaned in. Her eyes landed on the picture and then snapped to my face. Back to the picture and back to me. She repeated it several times, faster each time, her expression shifting from confusion to disbelief.

I cough when it raises a puff of dust into the air on its way. “I gave you all the ones with more pictures,” Roger murmurs, closing his book and reaching for his next as well. “Wanted to make it easy on you.” My mouth drops open in a little outrage at his implication there but then I see the upturned corner of his lip. “Liar,” I say, smiling down at my book as I open the cover. The title page reads A Complete History of the Cults of the Dark God, 1862. “You just didn’t want to get your hands and clothes dusty touching all these old ones.” Passively, I gesture to my clothes – which are indeed covered in a light layer of grey library dust.

Creighton laughed as he flipped through the pages. “Trust Miriam to give a gift like this,” he said, then paused at the beginning of the book which had many photos of lovers in different perverted positions. He smiled, his brows rising as he turned from one page to another saying, “done that…done that…that’s a good one…tried that…now that looks interesting.” He returned the book to the box and stood up suddenly. “Time to go,” he insisted with a wicked grin. “And we’re taking this with us.”

Sounds good. Wish I could join you.... Then I get a quick shot of the cover. What on earth's she reading? Tipping back her book to see the jacket, it's a bright splash of cartoon figures against a gentian blue sky. Smiley faced men and women frolic with a dog in front of a kids' classic 'first house drawing': a square box, with a triangle of a roof and a window in each corner. I peer at the blurb on the back.... "A few weeks ago, it was finite element analysis and Fourier series. Now you're reading chick-lit?"

I have to walk halfway down the row before I finally enter the plants and animals sections. The first couple of books are on forest plants. Then, I spot a book whose title is 'Herbs'. A short title, but it perfectly suits the book. I flip through the pages to find page after page covered in writing without a single picture in sight. Wanting to cover all of my bases, I search for a book that has pictures of the herbs. Not even five books away, is a book titled 'Herbs Catalog'. Each page of this book discusses a different herb and contains a large image if what it looks like.

I look over to where Primus had been sitting not so long ago. What's this? Primus left something behind. A book? Was this the gift he meant to give me? It is a small thing, dainty. I cannot imagine someone as large as Primus ever reading this because how could he ever hold onto it without breaking it? It looks so precious, and fragile. Even as a child, I can't imagine he would have been small or careful enough to read it. Gently, as if lifting a rose from a vase, I pick up the blush pink volume, marveling at the delightful texture of its silk binding, the title embroidered in gold. While I might not know many words yet, I know enough that I can read the title of this book.

"Good morning, princess." "Good morning," I answered and sat on the sofa beside him. "Do you have a meeting today?" I asked. And he shook his head, “Not much." He replied, now continuing on reading the book in his hand. I glanced at the book that he’s reading. Based on the title, A Guide to a Perfect Shot, it’s obvious that it’s a book about photography Why is he reading it? Now my curiosity just got bigger. I was about to open my mouth to ask him, but thought about it and knew it was not a good idea. At least, not now. He seems so focused on reading it and I'm just bothering him.
