That's no easy task." She walks over to my bookshelves; her fingers trail over Grimm's Fairy Tales, The Happy Prince, Collected works of Hans Christian Andersen. Even at that age, I had a huge appetite for fantasy. For the unreal. Gran sits back down on the bed. She looks thoughtful for a moment, scrutinizing my face before nodding.

AUTHOR'S NOTE. Grandmother with the idea of getting a great-grandchild. lol. Thanks for reading... wait, let me ask you this, do you think Grandma is just being selfish and only after she wants to have a great-grandchild or does she really want to bring the two closer for their benefit or both?

“Mom, you don’t need to be so humble! “You raised me all these years. I’d be an ungrateful daughter if I allowed an outsider to offend you! “Between getting married and doing what’s right, which one do you think is more important to me?” Emerald’s heart skipped a beat, but she could not force a smile.

I'm glad that my mother and sisters are not at home, I'm not ready to face them. I didn't see my grandma in her room so I moved to her library. My grandma loves reading so she build a small library for herself in the house. I actually love reading but not as much as my grandmother does. Just as I'd expected, I met her at the library. “Grandma." I squeaked lightly. Her face lit up in a beautiful smile when she saw me. She stood up and hug me. “Vera honey, how are you doing?" “I'm fine, grandma. What about you? I hope you are doing well?" I sat down with a vivid smile on my face.

Grandma does not look at all as an oma because she is very fresh and lively healthy. Although soon, she has a great-grandson. Oma will be a great granny.

I asked not understanding what was going on. "Come in first, I am sure you must be hungry. I made dinner." without hesitation, I followed her inside the cosy looking home and to my surprise grandpa Jack was also there, sitting on the couch sipping some coffee I think and reading a book titled "moon-faced" probably a romance novel. "Sit down dearie, I will get dinner ready." I reluctantly sat down and she disappeared into the small kitchen. I looked around the room and there were many photos of the older couple, when grandma was pregnant, when mom scarlet was a teen e.t.c. The entire wall was covered in all sorts of photos.

Clinton added, and I was starting to get frustrated. “Can grandma not read you something else?” I asked as I entered the office and started searching for the book. “No, I want to say goodnight to everything,” Grace insisted, and Clinton agreed. "Please, Jessie, just find the book so my grandchildren can sleep,” Mrs. Smith said. “Alright, where's Journey and Kiara?” I asked as I opened the drawer since it was not on the table. “They are watching TV, well, Journey, because Kiara is busy writing, she's going to be a good writer,” she said.

Sunny, who was my bridesmaid and my best friend, called out in excitement, "Lena, it's time! Evan is already waiting for you outside. Come on!" I looked at her, then at myself in the mirror, draped in pure white. Then, my stomach churned violently. That photo was like a key, unlocking the memories I had buried deep. Before my grandmother passed away, she had held my hand tightly, her eyes filled with a strange, unwavering clarity. "Lena, I'm old now, so I can't protect you anymore. You have three deadly trials in your life, each more dangerous than the last. Every one of them could kill you. These three walnuts are the chances I traded half my life for.
