People live for the ‘I just read this and my jaw is on the floor’ energy. Jopping on live streams with authors is another layer – they’ll do Q&As, readings, and you can actually chat in the comments. My TBR pile hates me for it, but discovering books through other people’s unhinged, tear-stained reviews is half the fun. The festival feeling comes from that collective, real-time excitement, like you’re at a con but from your couch.

The 2024 line-up is pretty solid, honestly? I saw the announcement scroll by on my FYP last week. Colleen Hoover is basically a given at this point – she’s like the cornerstone of the whole thing. Ali Hazelwood will be there, which tracks because her STEM romances are still huge. I think Tia Williams is on the list too, 'Seven Days in June' had such a moment. Rebecca Yarros for the Fourth Wing crowd, obviously.

But I was kinda surprised to see some bigger literary names mixed in? I'm pretty sure Celeste Ng is scheduled, and maybe Emily Henry – she bridges that gap between BookTok and more mainstream bestseller lists so well. It’s cool to see the festival expanding beyond the pure romantasy/social media darling bubble.

I'm most excited for the chance to maybe see R.F. Kuang. 'Babel' and 'Yellowface' sparked so many discussion threads; hearing her talk in person would be a major highlight. The vibe seems more diverse this year, genre-wise.
