The star pattern continued on the front, making up the border surrounding the exact same image in the middle engraved into the leather binding. I took a seat in a nearby armchair and opened the book. A little dust appeared as I did, along with a faint older text smell. I carefully turned to the first page which held the title: Ancient Curses. Oh, sh*t. Was this one of the books Ronan had used when looking for a cure for Leo's curse?

The room was ornate, filled with antiques from a time long past. The Victorian-style furniture gleamed under the soft light, rich tapestries adorned the walls, and intricate patterns were woven into every inch of the floor. I wandered through the room, marveling at the beauty of each unique piece. There were jewels; rings, amulets, bracelets…all glittering with an otherworldly glow. Books lined one wall, their spines cracked and worn from centuries of use. Staffs, crowns, and other strange artifacts were placed delicately around the room, each exuding its own mystical energy.

"Maybe he’s just waiting for someone worth the risk." Vlad reached toward the side table and picked up something small and delicate. "Use this." It was an old bookmark, made of dark engraved metal, with embossed details resembling intertwined branches and a small ruby stone set at the top. Elena smiled. "It’s beautiful… is it old?" "Quite." She ran her fingers over the engraving, enchanted by the details. "You keep far too many interesting things in this office." Carefully, she placed the bookmark between the pages and partially closed the book.

It seemed strange that I had found a company with a name like that given my connection to the Moon goddess. When I entered the store, the elderly owner grinned and greeted me. The inside was embellished with a variety of ornaments that featured the moon. There was a wide selection of moon-related items, including jewelry, calendars, and breathtaking paintings of lunar landscapes. I climbed the counter and walked over to the glass case containing the various hair ornaments. A silver clip with an exquisitely ornamented crescent moon caught my eye among them. It seemed like the right thing to do, a symbol of the Moon goddess, a token of our gratitude.

There was some sort of writing on the book’s cover, but I didn’t understand whatever language it was. “Open it.” I heard a faint whisper. “Did you say something, Aisling?” I turned to my sister, but she shook her head. Her eyes were as wide as saucers watching me unpack the trunk. I turned my attention back to the book, and as I reached out to touch the book, a necklace fell out of the silk. I curiously picked up the chain. It had a dark brown leather cord and heavy brass crescent moon dangling off of it. Black gems encrusted the moon, making it beautiful in an eerie kind of way.

Me and Dakota usually only came for the weaponry stalls, they would only consist of Swiss army knives and daggers, but we loved the different kinds and how some of the handles on them would be nicely engraved or decorated with colour and jewels, we never went home without a new one. Nicollette told me, walking towards me with a small box wrapped in silver paper with a royal blue bow. I smiled at her as I took the gift, & unwrapped it. I opened the box to find a silver ornament shaped like a crown. I pulled it out of the box & turned it in my hands. On the back was an inscription that read: "Timekeeper Queen of Witches & Wolves, created to bring about a new era for both. Queen to many, beloved family member to few. Loved & Adored by all." He tugged a long slender strip of crimson silk out from the center pages. Too long for a bookmark, it was embroidered with silver stars and crescent moons. "I thought you might find other uses for that." Horatia nibbled her lower lip with a gleam in her eyes. Damn the woman, she was perfect. Too bloody perfect. The attention of the others in the room was diverted by Lucinda and Lysandra admiring Audrey's new fawn gloves.

The woven bookmark has a faded blue tassel and was made of woven threads depicting wolves running in a forest, at the bottom of the bookmark was an old wolf’s tooth with a hole drilled through to be able to tie it onto the bookmark. She puts it to one side to look at the page it had been marking. It looked much like many of the others she had seen flipping through.
