THE SUN streamed through the window, casting a spotlight on Doris' desk, but she barely noticed. Her eyes were glazed over, her mind far away from the magazine at hand. She had been staring at the same page of the fashion magazine for what felt like an eternity, and her brain was starting to feel numb. The pictures and words on the page seemed to swim before her eyes, blurring into a sea of meaningless rubbish. Doris was in the throes of the most deadly foe an idle person can face: boredom.

It was truly a sacred place. I plopped myself down on the wooden chair and buried my head on the burrow I made with my arms on the table. I sighed deeply, not understanding the pain and supreme tiredness I was feeling. Pain and tiredness wasn't new to me but this was particularly different. I grabbed my favourite book, Othello by Shakespeare and sat, running my hand along the spine of the book. I opened the book and it landed on a page that I had a left a note in. I skimmed the page, reading the parts I had highlighted with a light blue highlighter. I took the note and read it:

Boredom makes you do crazy things, like how Neal was counting the little bulbs on the chandelier. He was bored. There was nothing to entertain him and he is tired of staring at the walls and the forbidden door. He tried his best not to look at it, because that brought the memories of events happened yesterday. An odd tingles filled Neal's stomach when he remembered the things happened between him and Hunter. It was embarrassing. Neal pulled his hair with both hands urging himself to forget about that.

the Dj suddenly changed the beat to slow and tense music. I don't know if it is the music or not but I can see the sudden change in his expression. it shifts from a goofy one to a serious one. It looks more intense than it has ever been. he begins to stare down at me and I wonder why the change in demeanour. I don't know why but I begin to feel butterflies in my stomach. I don't know why I suddenly begin to notice how attractive he is. not that I didn't notice earlier but his lips begin to look sexier as he stares down at me.

At that point I tuned out, I'd heard about their despair for the younger generation many, many times. ******** Walking through the heavy front door of the Manor I inhaled deeply, sad that I didn't know when I'd be back at work. The prospect of empty days stretched before me and it wasn't appealing, but to placate Max and to give Jonas peace of mind I would cope. There were worse things that be stuck inside a huge house with an endless supply of food and all the cable channels a girl could want.

She was able to make even the most-plain meal delicious with her smile. The week had been difficult on him mentally because he was not used to not doing anything. It was not that he was not exactly doing anything, he had works to do and financially he was not troubled, but his days had gotten boring, he mostly dealt with computers and it killed his soul. Even during times when he workout and did boxing, he was still unable to relieve himself from the silent boredom that was eating him. He felt like a man without purpose.
