The man sneered, exposing his teeth, and I could see his dirty teeth reflecting in the light emitted from the silver glow of the moon overhead. The man's claws extracted at once, his eyes flashed a dangerous shade of red, and it hit me at once that I was standing before a bounty hunter. I could not guess which Alpha or pack this man was working for; all I knew was that this man was reveling at the prospect of handing me in and claiming a bountiful reward.

Still confused about what he is saying because my dad has never discussed this with me before he died. “ I told your dad to discuss it with you but he always tells me it isn't time for you to know. Remember when I was tasked to destroy the Rawindra Sword and had to go through a traditional duel for it?”

We spot a few supernaturals. A group of bounty hunters, gathered near the entrance of a bar. They’re talking in hushed voices, passing around a worn-out bounty poster—my bounty poster. Achilles nudges me. "Oh, this is too easy." I raise a brow. "What are you thinking?" A slow, mischievous grin spreads across his face. "Watch and learn, love." "Oi!" He calls out, swaggering over to the group, his Aussie accent thick. The bounty hunters turn, sizing him up.

I said, glaring at the wolf, itching to stab that waggling tongue of his. Was there a way I could kill him without making Lucia even more suspicious? “Ryan, do you know these people?” she asked bluntly. Might as well give her enough to let me off the hook. “Bounty hunters. They are a small pack further East and they work for whoever pays them.” She pressed further stubbornly. “And do you know who that is? Who were they sent to kill?” “No,” I admitted truthfully. “They are often hired to capture deserters alive. There might be a runaway from Northern Fang on the loose.”
