The sound of the flames filled the room, and the air crackled with energy. The chains around my wrists and ankles started to rattle. They glowed red-hot from the heat of my fire, and I could feel them weakening. Then another. And another. The last one snapped like it was made of glass. The stone table beneath me split down the middle, smoke rising from the cracks.

A tear slipped from her eye. Trayaksh noticed. His jaw clenched, but instead of softening, his grip on her throat loosened, only to let his fingers trail down to her wrist. His hold was cruel, fingers pressing into her pulse as he pulled her closer. "How many times do I have to break you before you finally stop resisting me, doll?" Her lips quivered, but her spirit was not shattered. "You can break my body, Trayaksh. But my soul?" Her voice was barely above a whisper. "That is mine alone."

The warrior took a step back. “About that Sir…” “What happened!? Tell me!” “Sir, s-she broke the chains.” “What!? How the fuck is that possible!?” I felt like wringing the life out of the fucking idiot guard. Was he messing with me? “She was heavily dosed with wolfsbane to the point of being on the brink of death, and you’re telling me she broke solid steel chains?” I asked in a very calm and deliberate manner.

“Get him out of here!” He nodded once, then shouted to Liam. “We move on your mark!” Mira turned toward the rune chains binding her father. Her fingers hovered over them. “How do I break them?” He choked, “You can’t. They’re blood-linked to Valda.” Her breath hitched. Unless….. Mira’s eyes darted toward the pendant the seer had given her. Her mother’s. She yanked it from around her neck and pressed it to the chains. It hissed.

Broken Chains The silver cuffs around Marcus’s wrists popped open like ice cracking on a winter pond, just like that, no warning, no ceremony. Holy energy, rolling up from the guts of the castle, fried the corrupted metal and sizzled away the poison tubes jammed into his arms. Not like they were happy fighting, they were all just eager to get at the rogues and kill th just like they had killed the pack trackers. Jake on the other side tried to break off the chain cage to his feet but each time he tries, he ended up feeling weak. He knew he could break it but the weakness in his body wouldn't let him break the chain off. He was an Alpha and it was not that hard for him to break a feet chain but it all happened that the poison in him was retrieving his powers from him.
