The nauseating feeling clung to me like a foul odor as I hurried outside, desperate to put as much distance as possible between myself and that cesspool of filth.
But as I stormed toward my car, my mind consumed with escape, I collided with someone.
“Watch where you’re going!” I snapped sharply.
The person stumbled back, muttering an apology, but I paid no attention. I was already halfway to my car.
As I reached it, Marco opened the door and I slid inside. Finally in a safe space, I immediately sanitized my hands, letting the scent of milk and honey soothe my senses.
