He’s trying to reach for something behind me. I look to where he’s trying to get to, and there’s a butterfly sitting on a branch just a foot away from me. Its brilliantly colored wings have him mesmerised, and he claps every time it moves from one branch to another. The girl is so engrossed in the dandelion that she doesn’t notice when the butterfly settles on her nose. “Emily, Emily,” Jacob snaps me out of my thoughts. “I thought I lost you there. Are you okay?”

The one that he had chosen was adorned with red icing on the wings, outlined in black, and looking like the most stereotypical butterfly that one could think of, the poster boy of all butterfly species that one saw to promote documentaries and other sorts of nature programmes that were really only watched to marvel at the world and passively feel good, not at all taking in the message and the point of all those documentaries and series as the planet continued on to boil to death and then have its corpse violated and ashes harvested to turn a neat profit from the dying remains that were going to be left of humanity, barely eeking out a life time of hard, hard living - most of them being poor

I step away and take out my phone, just quickly enough to call up my camera app. The butterfly dithers around her head before it lands, perches, and flaps its wings once, twice, three times before it rests, so blue against Laine’s pale blonde hair. I watch my beautiful girl crowned by the beautiful butterfly, my heart full to bursting as so many others flutter around us. Her shock is divine, her expression of wonder so beautifully innocent, and I know it for certain. Laine will love butterflies as much as I do. I can see it in her eyes. I capture the moment and I know it’s one I will savour forever.

She was totally mind-blown by the spectacle happening before her very eyes. My sister appeared beside Lauren and said, "This is just beginner magic, girl." Lauren's brows furrowed. "What?" "Nothing!" Lyn giggled. "Do you still want to see the butterflies, or will I make them disappear?" "Give me a few minutes so that I can store this amazing memory in my mind," Lauren replied. Sally’s POV Butterflies, Those little creatures fluttered in my belly whenever I saw Justin. This was it! I was going to do it. I exhaled deeply, clutching the gift box I had particularly stayed up all night curating just for him. I was finally going to tell Justin how I have truly felt after three years in colledge. It was our senior year and I didn’t want to live my entire life regretting why I never took the chance. I stood outside the building where Justin was throwing his birthday party.

Veronica will not forget when she saw a palm-sized yellow butterfly with black polka dots all over its wings gliding calmly in lucid air. She planned to pet it and put it in a sanctuary where it can live and multiply. But when she was about to catch it, Freya, her elf playmate, swiftly made a scene and caught the butterfly with its elongated green tongue, sticking it to her left arm while stroking its wings gently with her right pinky finger giving Veronica a mocking stare.

Suzie giggled as she ran after the butterfly, reaching out for it but never really coming close: it would dodge her grasp, zipping sideways or rising up just above her head, forcing her to jump—then it would dive-bomb and she’d miss it again. She lost it a couple of times, when it took a left turn into some foliage, but she soon found it again. Its colour was a dead giveaway against all the surrounding greens. After more chasing, Suzie eventually found the insect, which had settled on the outskirts of a meadow, near to some flowers. And, as Suzie drew nearer, her focus shifted from that butterfly to the even more colourful blooms. In fact, the butterfly flapped off and she barely even notice

The large colorful butterfly violently flapped its wings in the face of those toxins. The toxins unleashed by Fiona turned back on them, resulting in horrified screams.

"F-father..." Meanwhile, while following a white butterfly, Zelle accidently stumbled onto his Uncle Zeppelin's office.
