Rita tried to deflect, but Celeb scoffed dismissively. "I never agreed to that with either of you. Vivian caused damage to our company, but you let her go and allowed another girl to take the blame," he retorted, shaking his head with an indifferent expression. "I don't recognize you anymore, Mom. I don't recognize any of you anymore." He walked past her, heading for the door, leaving Rita standing there, her heart sinking. "Celeb... Celeb..." she called out, but he ignored her, slamming the door shut behind him. Rita closed her eyes, pressing her fingers to the space between her brows.

"Don't ever try to contact me or Kylan. We're done." Repeating her rejection through her gritted teeth, she slowly backed out of the door and ran away. With my mouth still hanging open, I glanced at Bert who was now wheezing as he clutched onto the black and white striped shirt he was wearing. He was apparently in pain, but it was hard to feel sorry for him. I took tentative steps towards him. "Bert?" He looked at me, and reached his trembling hand out to me. "Hey," I said, but when his breathing laboured and his eyes rolled to the back of his head my heart skipped a beat. That wasn't good. My chest was tightening with anxiety as I looked at the one way glass.
