She was fine with that too. Penny thought that if she was anyone else, she would have started a conversation with the girl. Just a casual one. Commenting on the sucky weather, the overcrowding of the diner, but that wasn’t Penny. She wasn’t anti-social; she was, as she labeled it, socially inept. She could blend in easily with the wallpaper, a superpower she used to avoid small talk at company functions. Some people tried to make her feel weird about her lack of social skills, but she couldn’t even muster up the energy to do that much. Sulking, her face buried down in her mug, she didn’t notice that she was being watched.

Keyonna had said last week that for Penny’s sake she hoped she got better at designing clothes because the way she spent money she was going to need to know how to do something to make money.

But he didn't understand what she was doing. “I don't have any money left,” Penny said honestly. “But I'm sure this is worth a good amount. Can you find someone to buy it? You can deduct my hotel bills and…” Renny pursed his lips and refused to take it. “No, that seems important to you,” he said. Penny looked at him again. She was still hesitant to part with it. But only a second later, she looked determined. “It's no longer important to me,” she lied.

She was overwhelmed with sweetness. It was the first time Penny had received a bank card from her father. Her mother used to give Bella a black card when she wanted to go shopping. However, when she wanted to go shopping, her mother would tell her that money did not grow from trees. Keller's hungry eyes on her pert bottom.
