He followed me over the edge, groaning my name into my skin as he collapsed against me, shaking.
We lay there for what felt like forever, hearts racing, sweat cooling on our skin. My fingers traced patterns on his back, but my mind was far away, already spiraling into what waited for us beyond these walls.
Finally, Liam rolled onto his side, pulling me against him, his arm wrapped tight around my waist. “We will move tonight,” he said. “Before she expected it. Before she can use your father as bait.”
I froze. “Move? Where?”
He met my eyes, steel-hard. “Into hiding. She can’t fight what she can’t find.”
