These men had no idea that Ruby was the Alpha’s fated mate; in their eyes, she was just a girl from Silvermoon whose endurance was being tested. Ruby was dressed in a fine leather tunic and armor while her golden hair is braided nearly to keep them in place. Her beautiful face was serious and decisive as she discussed her proposal of attack to her hunting band, whose members are far older than her and their obvious distaste for her is clear mostly because of her gender and age, but she did her best not to let their prejudice affect her duty.

Carden’s breathing became uneven. “No…” For one brief second— Doubt crossed his face. And Arnold took advantage of it immediately. He grabbed a broken shard of marble and stabbed it deep into Carden’s side. Carden gasped sharply. Anna cried out. Eric cursed under his breath. Blood soaked through Carden’s shirt almost instantly. Arnold shoved him backward violently and staggered to his feet. “You should’ve finished me when you had the chance,” Arnold growled. Carden dropped to one knee, clutching his side.

According to Barrett there's a lot of rare crystals and plants here that any witch or warlock would go crazy for. When Raya and I stepped out of the closet, Barrett was there with arms crossed to greet us. He seemed unhappy, which I'm starting to believe is his permanent state of being. His eyes wandered over Raya as if he were trying to make certain that she was who she said she was. Although how he planned to do that, who knows?

The red and gold scabbard caught Rainer’s eye, mainly the intricate wave-like design.
