A Game Of Chess

A Game Of Chess

I requested as he smiled. "And they are?" He asked as I took my pawn and placed on the board. "Checkmate. Your king dies." I said as I removed my hand for him to view the battle. I picked up a ruler and had the white king fall to his face as I stared at his player who groaned in another smooth lose. "I believe I should stop playing chess with my fianceé as she is showing me too much of my flaws." He said as I chuckled and threw my hair with a nice flick.

Forbidden Temptations (A Collection of Steamy Tales)

I giggled childishly. His eyes squared. He wasn't going to be easily misled but I was ready for resistance. His face softened and he smiled. That ridiculous annoying smile like he was on top of the world looking down at the rest of us. Well I was about to knock his ass off the throne. "I have an idea sir." I hurried to his side. "How about we play a game of chess?" He sneered. "It's tiresome beating an amateur. Mind you I'm insulting amateurs using that term on you." He yawned as he itched the side of his jaw. "I use it for lack of a better word.

The Lycan King’s Wanted Mate

The Lycan King’s Wanted Mate

I had faced the tactics of a jealous woman before and every time I thought back on it, I was reminded just how much of a fool I had been. "I'm sorry, I don't know how," I carefully placed my spoon on the table. "It's okay. I can teach you," he offered. "Chess is a game of strategic planning. Most people use it for deep thinking-" "I'm afraid I have to decline," I interrupted him. It wasn't my intention to do that but it didn't seem like he would stop talking any time soon. "Please excuse me, Alpha Adrian. I haven't slept in a while." His lips twitched into a smile and I wondered what he found amusing this time. Did he notice I was giving excuses to avoid being in a closed space with him?

The Comeback of a Star

The Comeback of a Star

My arms dropped to my sides as I spun around to face him, eyes wide. "You have a fiancé?" I asked, bewildered. "Definitely not. It's a reference to an old joke. And telling it now would kill it, trust me," he said, going to his wardrobe, probably looking for something that would fit. "Whatever... like I said... I'm mature and understanding. I'm not jealous," I said, turning away from him and pretending to examine the other chess pieces. But my shoulders were tense and I was definitely pouting like a child.

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone

"Mr. Jacquez, I heard that you like chess. And my friend happened to have a pretty decent set of chess. Since your birthday is just around the corner, I got it for you as a present. Just a token of my appreciation." Hugo was unfazed, as he brewed his tea with an air of sophistication. But the sarcasm in his tone was evident. "I'm too old for birthdays now—the more I celebrate them, the older I'm gonna get. Sooner or later, I'll be gone before I can even get myself a girlfriend." Opening the chess set, Lucian said without skipping a beat, "You're being too modest, Mr. Jacquez. You're still in your prime, so how could you say you're old?"

gosh this story sounds so familiar to me but I can't for the life of me remember where I read it or what the title was. I'll update when I can recall but I'll pass on this story since I'm sure I've already read it

Cade and Cameron. Now wasn’t he crazy about her until this repairing of the story? I’m not a fan currently. I’ve stuck with it this far but it’s losing me at light speed. Can we fix the consistency please?

I Never Regretted Leaving You

I Never Regretted Leaving You

Robert suddenly burst into laughter and said, "Haha. William, oh William, you have your days too. Weren't you quite skilled at chess before? How come today you can furrow your brow and kill a fly?" "Your chess skills have declined. Could it be that you've been idle all these years and your brain has become dull?" William heard Robert's voice, looked up, and exclaimed excitedly, "Oh, Robert, you're here?" After greeting, he immediately retorted to Robert, "Don't just focus on making fun of me. Let me tell you, it's not that my chess skills have declined or that I've become stupid, it's just that the opponent is too strong."

i think the author needs to focus on finishing books rather than leaving lots of unfinished ones that leave your readers hanging and we do not want that. you would gain more followers and readers if you can concentrate on one story at a time and finish each book. more ongoing than completed books
SillyRabbit
This is one heck of a story. It has romance, betrayal, revenge, time travel, robots and tons of dramatic twists and turns. There are some translation mistakes here and there but overall, it’s well written.

The Mafioso's Corpse Bride

The Mafioso's Corpse Bride

the man taunts, moving his next chess piece towards the queen on the board. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." A chess game inside a pub where women dressed in strings dance and entertain guests from the center stage while alcohol and cigarettes engulf the four corners of the room. Seven gentlemen betting on the life line of their fortune and a part of them considers money as nothing but bad luck and something to waste. "Deal." Games such as chess were entertainment for them. It was the sole purpose of their meeting aside from their transaction and nothing but a good time to release.

Enchanting the Mafia Don

Enchanting the Mafia Don

I knew he was fibbing. The jackass was a sore loser. We had played three games of chess and he had lost every single one. We were in the fourth round and Luciano was trying to come up with ridiculous and very untrue rules concerning the game. "Seriously," he defended. "The pawn can become the queen as long as it's in the last three rows." I leaned forward to flick his forehead and shook mine in disapproval. "Liar. That's not how it works." "That's how it does!" He yelled. "And if that's not how it works, then I don't want to play any longer."

I say as we start making our way to Christ knows where. "I can't for shit. All I did was copy the other person's move. But it's a good way to get to know people. You should try it sometimes. Want me to link you up?" "No. I'm good. Chess isn't my forte." "Whatever. I'm going to take a long refreshing nap."

Cruel Alpha's Marriage Proposal

Cruel Alpha's Marriage Proposal

"Why am I doing this?" he complains exasperatedly to himself as he plays yet another game of chess with the opposing team's captain. "This isn't gonna work..." he mumbles under his breath. "Oh, calm down, kid," the guy comments dryly, giving Max a slight grin. Will narrows his eyes at him, feeling annoyed at the fact that everyone seems to think that this isn't working at all. "It's not gonna work because nobody here is smart enough to play chess properly. Why don't you guys just go back to sitting in the bleachers instead? Then you won't be cheating and wasting my money," he snarls irritably.
