It was meant to symbolize a final, irreversible break from one’s past.
It was also a humiliation.
I could already see the smug satisfaction glimmering in Kael’s eyes. This was exactly what he wanted—to make a spectacle out of me, to make me stand before the Silver Claw Pack one last time as an outcast, to remind everyone of my place.
But I wouldn’t let him win.
I took a deep breath and nodded. “I accept.”
Darius looked at me sharply, but he said nothing, trusting my decision.
Kael, however, leaned forward slightly. “The ceremony requires both parties to be present. I will oversee it myself.”
