The Ice Between Us
Leo whispered.
"And someone hit me from behind." Ciel touched the back of his head, where a small scar was hidden beneath his silver hair. "When I woke up, Eli was gone. The ice was smooth again, and my mother was standing over me, telling me I'd fallen and hit my head. She said I'd imagined everything."
The room went very quiet.
"Your mother knocked you out," I said slowly. "She made you think you'd hallucinated the whole thing."
Ciel nodded, his eyes wet. "Until tonight, I wasn't sure what was real, but now I know. I know, and I can't un-know."
