We headed up a short hill, following the main flow of cars, and the houses began to get more spread out, until they disappeared entirely, replaced by a cute little downtown area. The suburbanites were out in force. Lots of boomers in fancy outfits, a few packs of teenagers, little kids running from bench to bench. This place was truly different from our world, and everything about it screamed creepy. "So this is the inbetween." I murmured, continuing to examine the area. Just up ahead of us was a cobble street with wooden signs pointing the way to High Street where the main part of town for this place was located. It wasn't our destination, but it would lead to where we needed to go. To find the black market, we needed to find the Goblinaspur pub first, and then, only after giving the proper password would we be granted access. It was a bit of a trek since the pub was on the outskirts of town, so we really needed to get going.

It's a dark, dingy tavern - the kind of place where you'd expect to see thieves and members of the criminal underworld congregating in the corners, whispering and plotting. In fact, the clientele are mostly apprentices and journeymen craftsmen. They like the Bell and Candle because the beer is good, and cheap. Unfortunately, it's located a little too close to the tannery; when the wind shifts in the wrong direction, you get a reminder.

This tavern was located close to the entrance to the scorching skull desert and the only checkpoint where travelers could get a good drink and meal before they ventured on thier adventure. Aside from the other horse that stayed in the stable, nine stood out from the rest. Nine good strong horses of the elites that had only arrived minutes earlier. She slammed her jug back on the counter and let out a loud gruff. She exhaled loudly as she threw back her crimson red hair and stared at the huge taverner before her. "You call this ale? It tastes like cows piss." She spat out. The taverner wiped a stain off his moustache and said. "I'll go get you another Miss...?"

I spotted an open table in the corner, so I tapped Tyler on the shoulder to let him know where I was going, then scurried over to snag it before anyone else could. As I sat, I continued looking quietly at the other patrons, just observing. The tavern in Crescent Hollow was usually one of the livelier places in the pack, but never like this. The walls were positively bursting with people, so much so that I could barely even hear the fiddle player in the corner.

He leaned back with arms crossed while looking way too relaxed like everything was perfect. “But I need to ask—who do the knights have to fight to get your attention?” Dale gave him a stern look, obviously not enjoying the joking around. “Or maybe we just want a peaceful drink without being noticed?” I gave Dale a quick look to warn her, but I stayed friendly. “We’re fine with some attention. That's the real charm of this place—nothing else.”

The cobblestoned streets were slippery with ice underfoot, and the chimneys in all the houses streamed smoke. I heard the dragon roar and lifted my face to the sky to watch Aurien wing in towards the inner courtyard. Getting a last flight in, I thought, before he became snow-bound by the storm. The tavern was easily found, the light and revelry from within spilling out as a man left. He looked at my company with alarm, glanced over his shoulder at the occupants of the tavern, and then strode away in a hurry, leaving them to their fates. “Stay here,” I told the skeletons. “I don’t think you’ll be welcome within.”

I took that opportunity to look around. The tavern was almost dark, except for a few torches that offered light and the whole place stunk of alcohol mixed with sweat. Sake bottles, goblets and huge beer mugs sat on every table. The men all drank heartily, some engaging in conversations or throwing darts. Whilst others, received lap dances from scantily dressed women.
